Cindy Stowell dies 12/5 after taping "Jeopardy!

It is a very stressful show. But Alex’s stare isn’t the reason in this case. She had been fighting cancer for awhile.

Cindy appeared on Jeopardy to win money for cancer research. She’s won three days so far. I searched google and haven’t found out if she won again today (Friday). That would be 4 wins.

Cindy has won 39,600 in three days. Hopefully her winning streak will continue.

Anyone watching?

You don’t say.

It’s an inspiring story. Playing for a charity takes on a entirely new meaning in this situation.

I just heard that today, but we had not yet watched Wednesday’s and Thursday’s episode. Now all I could do was watch for clues, little hints.

I feel for her. I’m glad she got to be on. The winning was all her, though. She dethroned the multiple-day winner!

haven’t watched today’s yet. Don’t tell me if she wins.

I’m surprised it’s taken someone this long to bring up the subject. I’ve been watching over the Internet with a day’s delay, since I’m currently overseas.

Cindy’s performance has been amazing so far. She’s shown remarkable calm and courage throughout. An amazing woman, pure class! May she rest in peace.

On Friday, her fourth appearance, she won with $22401 dollars, bringing her total to $62001.

I wouldn’t have been able to give the final answer. The category was “Western Hemisphere Geography” and the question, as best I remember the wording, was “what two Cental American countries border only one ocean?”

Belize and El Salvador

So I guess she will be on again Monday.

Does Jeopardy film a week of episodes in a day? So, we basically saw one very long day in Cindy’s life?

Then she films another day for next week’s shows?

So when she eventually lost (as I assume she did), will the victor have to contend with people saying “Sure you beat her. She was only dying. Of cancer.”

What amazed me was that all three contestants had the right answer!

No way I would have got that one right, either.

Huh. That’s actually a question I could answer–unlike a most of Jeopardy. Though it helps that we had to learn every country in the world and its location back in my Montessori elementary school. That North America Map is burned in my brain.

My main issue was whether the island countries count. But, with two on the mainland, I figured not.

Yes, they tape on Monday and Tuesday, five shows each day.

Thanks Strainger.

I’m hoping Cindy remains champion for awhile. That’s more money for Cancer related charities.

Cindy’s family talks about her. She was one gutsy lady.

Just watched her fourth game. She seemed noticeably weaker.

And has anyone mentioned that she started out by beating a 7-time champion?

Er, what island countries are part of Central America?

Yeah, someone did. Didn’t say seven, just multiple.

Well, Cindy was a six day champion. Won $103,803 for charity.

She correctly answered the final Jeopardy question. But her total wasn’t enough to win her final game.

Had she survived, she probably would have qualified for next year’s Tournament of Champions.

I liked the little epilogue that aired after the program was over.

i was wondering it they would do a tribute after the episode, and they did. very nicely done.
