There probably will be some films it will be impossible to obtain the rights to (Sandy Frank refuses permission for the Gamera films because he was offended by a song making fun of him in one episode, for example), but it will be interesting to see what Shout! Factory does with the franchise, since some of their stuff is very interesting.

Sandy Frank evidently doesn’t won the Gamera movies anymore (see Governor Quinn’s link).

I too am interested in what Shout Factory will do. I wonder if we’ll see a return to single-episode releases?

Except that the Harry Potter one absolutely does not sync up. Within one minute of being synched it starts falling behind.

Are you sure you have the right version? It worked fine for me. That sounds like you’re watching the PAL when you have NTSC or NTSC when you have PAL.

FWIW they didn’t do an NTSC version of Philosopher’s Stone, but the Canadian version of the film has the exact same run time as the US one with only two word substitutions.
