How many Rifftrax fans are here?

I’ve finally gotten into Rifftrax after hearing about it for so long. I saw a reshowing of the Plan 9 event and saw the Christmas event live. And I’ve got Vols. 1 and 2 of the short films.

I love their work but have some issues:

I find that I miss the characters of Mike and the Bots. I even miss the silhouettes. They’re not always as funny as they used to be. I guess with less writers, they have less material to choose from. Some of the shorts are missing that classroom-style Conformity Mandate that they mock so well. I only found one riff of the patriotism flick to be really funny.

But having said all that, I find Rifftrax very funny. I hope to get and see more of them in the future.

What about y’all?
La La La!

So far, I’ve just watched Planet 9, but I’ve got some more in my Netflix queue. I miss Mike and the Bots too. It doesn’t seem quite the same as MST3K, but it’s still funny.

I liked the shorts, but I think Film Crew was a better. But then again, MST was hit or miss, too.

I’ll catch it now and again (saw the Christmas special live this past December). I’m definitely more of a Cinematic Titanic and have bought all of their episodes. I think a big part is the unfussyness of synching it and being able to watch it on tv.

I’ve seen some of the Film Crew movies, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a Rifftrax effort. In order to correct that oversight, I’ve just added Missle to the Moon, Carnival of Souls, and House on Haunted Hill. I’ll report back with my impressions next week.

Their riffing of the latest Star Trek was hilarious, especially when they sing “funky Spock.”

Their Twilight is hilarious as well.

“lllllllllllllllllllllllllladies!”

I saw them do 300 at a friends house, but I’m not set up properly at my place to do it that way.

So is cinematic Titanic better for folks whose PC is quite a distance from their TV?

Big Rifftrax fan. There’s no other way to watch Phantom Menace.

Rifftrax does sell a few “pre-synced” DVDs. And the other solution is to use a portable speaker with an MP3 player. In fact, I think that might be preferable since the audio source will be seperate from the original movie’s, so there’s a little more seperation.

I’ve been a fan of Rifftrax since day 1 (literally). I bought the commentary for Road House the day it was released–I felt like I had been waiting my whole life for that. I don’t think I ever laughed so hard again. In fact, I just watched it again last week for the millionth time. My favorites include but aren’t limited to Star Trek 5, Star Trek, Point Break, The Grudge (“Lazy and crazy!”), Dirty Dancing, and Twilight.

“I’m Harpo…I’M HARPO!!..I’m harpo…”

I’m another big fan of Rifftrax, Mike Nelson did a great job finding those Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot impersonators as well, I mean they sound just like Servo and Crow, they do such a good impersonation job it’s eerie…

I love 'em. Batman and Robin was hilarious.

One Got Fat is my favorite short so far. It’s horrifying material and they skewer it mercilessly. Buying Food has my favorite line, though: “And don’t let your son join a band called The Skinless Weiners.”

Big fan as well, I have several. Both Fantastic 4 Movies, Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Dirty Dancing, Die Hard, Planet of the Apes and more. I also like that they have guest riffers because it is nice to hear other voices, and so far, they’ve all been good.

I do have most of the Cinematic Titanic DVDs and they fall flat for me for some reason. Also, I find the breaks in the film to be extremely lame. There ok, but I’ll take Rifftrax over CT for now.

We’ve been big fans since it got started. I think Battlefield Earth might be my favorite.

I like both Titanic and Rifftrax, though lately I prefer Rifftrax. I haven’t done any of the sync-ing yet, but I’ve seen the pre-synced Plan 9 and House on Haunted Hill and, I’ll tell ya, it’s like they never left! I do miss the silhouettes, but prefer Mike, Kevin and Bill’s commentary to the Titanic crew.

I’d like to try the sync-ing, but I’m not that technically savvy. Is it difficult to sync them up? I like the idea of using an MP3 player rather than a computer, since my computer and TV are in different areas of my home. Has that worked for the ones who’ve tried it?

Now, if we could just get the two groups back together and put MST back on the air, all would be truly right with the world!

I suppose I could use my Ipod, but I don’t have speakers. So I’d have to have one earbud in for the riffs and one out to hear the movie.

Big fan of Rifftrax. It’s amazing that the concept works as well with good movies as it does with bad ones. Their LOTR:FOTR was one of the funniest things they (going back to MST3K) have ever done. I’ve also seen & enjoyed Jaws, 300, Indiana Jones/Crystal Skull, LOTR:TT…bunch of others. Also the 2 live performances (Plan 9, and the Christmas shorts).

I’ve watched the live ones, haven’t really done the pay-for tracks. Plan to try it sometime, though - really enjoyed the live shows.
