cinnamon lemonade

In an effort to entice myself to stay hydrated this summer, I’ve been making large pitchers of lemonade to keep in the fridge. I’ve been experimenting with adding different juices, like lime or pomegranate. This time I added nutmeg and cinnamon. It was actually pretty good! The only problem is that the spices sink to the bottom because the don’t dissolve in water, so you have to mix it up each time you pour.

Anyone have any other lemonade ideas?

Do you make a simple syrup? Maybe you can put the cinnamon in with that, if you do, and it will dissolve better?

I just drink Simply Lemonade (trademark thingy). I figure I can’t really do any better than that- it’s very good.

I’d suggest trying some mint leaves, or even dried mint from the spices section.
I love the c innamon idea! I will have to try that, and yeah, I think the simple syrup would work better…but either way, spring for cinnamon sticks instead of cinnamon ground up; easier to pick out of your teeth  (If your store has a mexican section, look there in the generic bagged spices for the cinnamon sticks; much cheaper than getting it from McCormick or what-have-you)

Vodka.
