or maybe just бред сивой
Hey, gang, I’m getting really tired of having to translate posts (and I can’t even sound it out if it’s in Cyrillic)…
If you must use other languages, can you add a translation? (You can spoiler it if you want)
Be fair! I put the phonetic translation! (And everyone knows ‘pravda’ means ‘truth’, and ‘sotsial’naya’ is easily figured out based on the ‘Truth Social’ that preceded it.)
I just mentally translated it as “bullshit”. Figured that works just as well.
Actually that is pretty much the Board’s rule. The “add a translation” part of the request. We’re an English speaking board.
You did well, young padawan…

What he said. Please post in English, or provide a translation.

Will Slippery Donald skate yet again? Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg questions whether Trump prosecution should continue; two top prosecutors on the case abruptly resign.
I heard about this earlier today and it just leaves me feeling ill.
A lengthier story at WaPo already:
I just read this piece regarding the new app…
I like this part:
Even a copycat site, TMTGSocial.com, which someone unaffiliated with Trump registered after Trump’s allies first announced Truth Social in October, now has hundreds of users - posting pro-Trump content, seemingly under the impression they’ve joined the real thing.
For months, many of them have been posting comments and photos, friending each other and following fake Trump accounts. Others have voiced their excitement that Trump is, as one said, about to “let the TRUTH PREVAIL.”
The site gives no indication that it’s phony and has a fake Trump profile that includes the former president’s birthday, photos and location (“Mar-a-Lago Club”). When Trump’s son posted last week that his father had shared his first message on the Truth Social beta site, someone at the fake site quickly copied it: “Get Ready! Your favorite President will see you soon!”
This just seems like such incredible BS. It seemed like we had him… slam dunk… and Alvin Bragg backs off to the point that two ADAs resign?
.
This seems like somebody got bribed or threatened.
Maybe. The story I’m reading is that because Trump did so much verbally, that the DA doesn’t think there’s enough evidence for a conviction (the two prosecutors obviously disagree). That sounds mobster-ish enough to be believable. But who knows if that’s the truth or a cover. Either is plausible where Trump is involved.
Heh, there are a few lawyers I follow in various forms of social media (YouTube, web comic, etc.) and they say “it’s never RICO” the way House used to say “it’s never Lupus”.

Was commenting elsewhere – Bragg apparently has done little to dispel the notion that he does not care to prosecute anything that does not end with blood on the floor or a firearm discharge, out of some sort of ideological commitment to not have anyone sleep at Riker’s who does not have literal blood on his hands.
This hints at that it does not only mean shoplifters and street dealers, but also applies at the opposite, white-collar end. Raises the possibility that what was driving his campaign was not all on the “oh the poor disadvantaged street suspects” side of things…
Is the occasional bon mot okay?
I think we have carte blanche for that sort of thing.
Que sera, sera.
