Being of 25% Scottish heritage, the talk of an independent Scotland has grabbed my interest. If Scotland does gain independence, how do you think the citizenship laws are going to be defined? Will any UK citizen who is legally domiciled in Scotland be automatically given (or offered) citizenship, or do you think that there will be ancestry requirements (e.g. at least one parent or grandparent born in Scotland?) What about people with significant Scottish heritage in Canada or the US? Will there be a similar program to the current Irish citizen by descent laws?
