Please add Mind Cloud, a science controller (mind control/storm summoning).
I have a Defender named Jophiel, but soloing him is an effort in self-abuse. It takes him about a bajillion mind blasts to kill anything (and I have to listen to “Waa-waa-waa-waaa…” each time) and, meanwhile, blue cons are kicking his butt down the road. It’s tempting to take more offensively oriented powers, but then I figure what good is a Defender that can’t Heal Others or anything?
Joph-I ran into the same problems when I made a Defender. My solution was a Controller with nifty Mental powers and the Healing line. Not that I ever use the Mental powers when running around healing, but whatever. Try a Controller with the specialty of your choice and Healing, it’ll probably work better for you. Wizard in Green can heal AND kick a little ass if he needs to and his bright green coloration just helps with the blind/mez spells. I also agree on the warehouse/sewers boringness, I had the same problem in Anarchy Online. But CoH is new and does so much so RIGHT (Even the patch server is superfast for me, for chrissakes) that I’ll give it a pass for a while.
Whoever’s volunteering to be Webmaster, drop me an email (in my profile) or let me know what I need to set up. I don’t have a ton of space, but I’m paying $20 a month and would like to see it put to good use.

If you have Microsoft Word, the screen shots load into that perfectly. Once you do a screen shot, it’s in your clipboard. Then go into Word and just do a paste.
Oh, fearless leaders, can we please find a different title for CECIL members other than ‘ignorant sheep’? Not wanting to pull rank, but I was a beta tester, have one of the higher level characters, and been on the SDMB longer than most, and am a GQ contributor. ‘Ignorant Sheep’ is grating on me. Besides, all my super hero friends are making fun of me. 
If someone does a web page, may I suggest we send in a cool web shot of the character and the character’s photo ID.
Battling big bosses: An orange boss is a lot harder than an orange minion. (And an orange Lt. is inbetween.) If a particular mission is too hard… get back to it after leveling up, or, recruit a team, whether it’s us CECILians or some ad hoc wandering heroes.

The supergroup limit is 75, I believe.
I’d like to second the call for a new title for members. I didn’t much care for being an “Ignorant Sheep.” Seems out of character with our missing to fight Ignorance wherever it rears its head. I suggest “Ignorance Fighter” or perhaps “Teeming Millionth” instead. 
Gee, I wish I could easily check on my characters to see what power groups they have without logging in each one and going all the way into the game (and then waiting 30 seconds to log out…). I know Sgt. Soldier is Assault Rifle/Devices.
And congratulations to **Pleonast ** on his election to C.E.C.I.L. webmaster pro tem.
miserably, no UK Dopers will be online until late July, when CoH is released over here.
By then I am sure other bigger/better MMORPGS will be out…

Well, I’ve gotten DeVena to level 5 now - but being a Defender and fighting solo is suicide. Trying to hunt with Verbena Beast last night was fun, but lagg was just horrible. I got booted to desktop twice. Really looking forward to finding some of y’all online. Guess I’m not on during prime hours.
M. Marie is lvl 7 now (I think… went linkdead last night and might have gotten rolled back some on the xp) and Agent Aphid is lvl… 4? I usually play from 8om CST through midnight or thereafter, so give me a look if you need a partner for your defender.
Gah! Alright, alright. GMRyujin has given me ftp access so I can update easily. So be sure to keep me updated about your characters. I can use titles (including a simple “the” if your character has one) and level.
You may also email me snapshots of your characters. But don’t send me the tga file that’s produced by default; it’ll eat up my email storage too quickly. Change it to a jpg. Try to get a view with your face visible (hold down the pageup key). I’ll probably crop picts for headshots.

This should be restricted because of the power/responsibility. These characters should be long-term members, and should log in most days.[]Middle rank: Illuminated Teacher should be given to most long-term characters. Any main character who logs in a couple times a week should be here. No alts at this rank, one character per person.Lowest rank: Erudite Student for everyone else. If there is truly a 75 character limit per supergroup, I suggest restricting each player to three characters in the supergroup. We want to stay open to as many players as possible.[/ol]
heh heh! I started an electric blaster last night! Mainly 'cause I wanted to nail down the name the Body Electric… other character updates… I ditched American Storm and made USAvenger same martial arts/reflexes scrapper (had to perfect my Captain America tribute)
Verbena Beast is up to lvl 4, as is the BurninSensation… I need to settle on one or two character, so I can level like a normal person…
I am having WAY too much fun creating characters and costumes…
Just had a very rude awakening. Was playing Chu, my lvl 6 natural/regen scrapper (on Virtue, of course) When I quit the other day, I found a nice quiet corner in King’s Row and timed out. When I came back, it turns out my nice quiet corner was also the middle of a spawn point for a bunch of red/purple hellions. I got clubbed like a baby seal. :mad:
Next time I’ll just quit at the hospital and save myself the trouble.
Not usually a fan of MMORGs, but loving COH.
I’ve seen a couple of CECILians, but haven’t shouted out yet. Want to know what I’m doing and not embarrass myself. If there’s an emote for /e poke self in eye, I’ll find it at the worst possible moment.

I agree to the three character rule… I submit Verbena Beast, USAvenger, and the BurninSensation as my group characters. Verbena Beast will be my main… Under the assumption the a tank will be the most readily needed. (I am thinking about re-making him too, though… before he gets too high level to do so… somebody stop me before I kill again!)
