Loser Donald posted 22 new defamatory tweets about Carroll while he was sitting in the courtroom.
If his losses ever actually hurt him, that would be asking just the minimum.
Maybe someday it will be, maybe not ever.
I’m more convinced than ever that Trump knows he’s about to self-destruct and his ego won’t allow him to prevent it from happening. I believe Trump understands why he’s in court and is perfectly aware that continuing to make statements regarding Carroll is likely to hurt his case. If you and are were driving down the highway at 70 miles-per-hour and saw a wall up ahead we’d slow down. Trump hits the gas.
Kind of like Hitler in the bunker. This situation just cries out for a Downfall reference.
I think he knows that the more he plays the victim, the more his moron supporters love him. He’s the new Messiah who is being hurt by the evil minions of darkness.
How/why is the judge allowing him to use his phone while in court?
On edit - I guess he had someone else post them. What a turd.
Oh, y’all are just trying to cheer me up.
ISTM, that person is practically begging for their very own defamation suit. And, for the record, I don’t believe Trump is technically savvy enough to schedule these posts. If they’re set to post automatically, and on Trump’s account, I’m willing to bet either Trump will get hit with another suit by Carroll or he’ll throw the other person under the bus and that person will get sued…or both.
– Look. I don’t think it ought to be blasphemy, just saying “Jehovah.”
– You’re only making it worse for yourself!
– Making it worse?! How could it be worse?! Jehovah! Jehovah! Jehovah!
This. Plus, when has he not gotten away with it? Even getting judgment against him doesn’t mean much when he can play it off as “totally biased liberals persecuting him with fake news”, and his followers eat it up and ask for more.
Even when those followers get their primary source of pro-Trump “news” shown in court to be liars and deliberately misleading them, if they turn on anyone, it’s Fox News and not the talking heads that were doing the lying or Trump who is the source of the lies.
Things that would individually have been career enders for any other politician stack up by the dozens for Trump and his followers just grow more determined.
It’s entirely plausible he actually believes that the more defiant he is, the stronger that makes his side, because it’s been true so far.
He had a $5,000,000 judgment against him in the first Carroll which from a financial standpoint probably didn’t bother him that much but was a blow to his ego. I suspect he’s going to face another blow to his ego when he loses this case and will receive a gut punch of a verdict that he’s actually going to feel this time. He won’t even be able to appeal the verdict without putting the damages in escrow first. For a man who appears to be increasingly strapped for cash this will be a problem for him.
Any word on whether she’s seen a penny of that?
They need to impose McDonald’s coffee-style punitive damages on the fucker. If its just a few million here and there is not going to stop him from continuing his behavior, they need to up it to the 10’s and hundreds of millions before he starts to feel the pinch.
He fully intents to pay nothing, take over in Nov, and laugh at that silly woman as some SWAT folks take her away to be shot on TV. To which millions of Americans will cheer.
I’m sure Rudy will be happy to host a fundraiser for him.
And, while that was meant to be sarcastic, as I typed it I realized Rudy would probably do it if Trump asked him to.
Anytime someone jokes about that, I recommend they watch Hot Coffee. It does a great job of explaining all the details of that case, complete with very graphic pictures of her burns. That case goes so much deeper than ‘some moron sued mcdonalds because her coffee was too hot’.
(Nothing graphic in the trailer)
Just to make it clear, I understand and agree with the reasoning behind that verdict and think that the same reasoning applies to the Trump case. If a defendant has deep enough pockets to pay off plaintiffs they have no incentive to change their behavior, unless the penalties are raised enough to hurt.
Yeah, I got that, I meant to clarify that I knew you knew but got sidetracked and forgot to include it.
But did B_G know that you knew that he knew?
I’m not entirely sure, that’s why I wanted to clarify that I knew he knew, that way even if he didn’t know that I knew he knew, he knows now. I didn’t want that post to come off like I was challenging him or that he was one of the people that I felt didn’t know and that I wanted to make aware of that documentary.
