"Civil War This, Civil War That..." What a Maroon!

About 10 minutes before the Turks invade.

I’m confused. I thought when the Iraqis went to the ballot box, they were selecting government representatives. Apparently, though, what they got was a piece of paper that said:

Check One:

Do you want Civil War?
Yes ____
No ____

I’m not surprised they voted against civil war, I just can’t figure out where the “unity government” came from.

I’m not surprised that different places have been informally referred to as “White House” in the past, but has anyone ever gone to such lengths to make it look like the real deal before? That sign looks just like the sign at the real White House. Perhaps Crawford will become the “Western Avignon.”

Maybe this is just the start of whole new trend. We could have the Western Pentagon (Halliburton HQ, Houston, Texas), The Western Blair House (Cheney’s place, Dallas, Texas - er Wyoming - since he doesn’t live in Texas) and The Western National Intelligence Council (A luxury box at Ameriquest Field, Arlington, Texas).

The whole folly of Bush seeing this strictly sectarian vote as a vote against civil war reminds me a bit of the spin that was put on the Lebanese elections last year. Remember how conservatives were falling all over each other at the time to get on the airwaves to declare that the vote in Lebanon was A) a consequence of the invasion of Iraq and B) a “tipping point” in the middle-east, because now democracy had taken root and was running wild. I’m not hearing too much of that talk today.

You are a freakin’ genius! You’ve just hit on Bush’s exit plan: Call in Miss Manners!

And there we have the crux of the problem: our mechanics are apparently much wiser than our president, veep, secretary of defense and secretary of state.

And they read more books.

And don’t treat newspapers like Kryptonite.

Yeah, more than a few posters on here, as well.

“See? Look at all the good the invasion of Iraq is accomplishing!”

I’m still trying to figure out how our Administration will manage to fuck up with Libya.

What, Dubya uses newspapers to incapacitate Superman so he can proceed with his nefarious plans?

Come to think of it, I see Shrubya in the Otis role. Lemme fix that…

What, Dubya uses newspapers to incapacitate Superman so Cheney can proceed with his nefarious plans?

No, when Cheney comes by to explain their next nefarious plan, an aide puts newspapers down for the president.
Like a puppy, he tends to become excited.
