Since the old days on AOL I’ve maintained the Teeming Millions Homepage. The site has many features, probably the most popular being the profiles and the page-o-flames.
There is a section which, similar to the POF, preserves great posts for posterity… but it is rather sparse and most of the things on it are fromthe AOL days. So I’m asking you to come up with some of your favorite posts and submit them for inclusion. Today I added WeirdDave’s Enormous Penis post, for example.
I’ve done searches in the Pit for the Jerry Lewis/Jerry Lee Lewis (they’re not the same person?!? Goodness Greatness Great Balls of La-a-a-a-dy!) rant, which is making me giggle as I type this…that is definitely a keeper.
Oh God, leafrog, that’s lno (who was LNO at the time) with the one of the funniest pit threads I’ve ever had the pleasure of spitting soda at my screen over. My Rage Burns Like A Million Suns-- or some such large number of suns.
If ever a post needed immortalizing, it was skewbald’s “The cute pyjama pants-wearing girl.” Unfortunately, it was lost in the Great Crash of 2002. Fortunately, skewbald returned with the equally classic My Date with the Cute Pyjama Pants Wearing Girl. I think the entire board must be living vicariously through his posts.
My personal all time most favoritist post (and naturally, no link is provided) is the MPSIMS ode to the “Onion” after the WTC/ 9-11 ordeal. That, in itself, was better therapy than prozac.
Short posts can be added to the POF (just email them to me), one-liners can be added directly by you to the one liners page of the POF. The Classic Posts page is more for long posts.
Oh god…after reading Weirddave’s above-named post, I now have tears streaming down my face with laughter–very inappropriate, as my coworkers are eyeing me with great curiousity (everyone’s kind of down today, as some folks just got downsized).
I went to the Wally tribute site and saw the cybersex thing. The funniest thing I have ever seen. I wish I had one millionth of his sense of humor. I laugh just thinking about it.
