Stormy Monday – ABB at the Fillmore East
Agreed.
“Now you’re messin’ with a, a son of a bitch!”
Also, Life’s Been Good by Joe Walsh.
All of them, dammit. Always will.
Could Have Been A Lady - April Wine
Cousin Mary - Fludd
Fly At Night - Chilliwack
Lovin’ You Ain’t Easy - Pagliaro
Boys In The Bright White Sports Car - Trooper
Born To Run and Tenth Avenue Freeze Out - Bruce Springsteen
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynrd Skynrd
Sweet Talkin’ Woman - ELO
almost everything by The Stones
Rock Of Ages - Def Leppard
More Than A Feeling - Boston
Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas
…evidently I’m showing my age here
Agree with some already mentioned, and I’ll add:
LA Woman - Doors
Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
Twist and Shout - Beatles
Back in the Saddle - Aerosmith
Paranoid - Black Sabbath
All Summer Long - Beach Boys
The Boys are back in Town - Thin Lizzy
Detroit Rock City - Kiss
Led Zeppelin: “Immigrant Song” and “Ramble On.”
That Smell - Lynyrd Skynyrd. Love it, every time (especially when the back up singers come in with ‘hell yeah’, that’s usually when I remember to turn it up).
Actually, I really like most Lynyrd Skynyrd songs, at least the ones on the radio. Hell, I don’t care how sick of Freebird you are, that’s a pretty amazing solo in the middle of it.
Layla…Hell Yeah! That one takes me back to the big family vacation from Indiana to Phoenix and then L.A. I had my learner’s permit and got to drive once we got out to the wide open spaces of Tx, NM and Az.
Good times!
Not mentioned yet:
30 Days in the Hole - Humble Pie
Ride My See Saw - Moody Blues
Thunderstruck - AC DC
These HAVE to be as loud as possible. I don’t care if my ears bleed.
Oh yeah, Day Of The Eagle by Robin Trower.
Under dash Radio Shack cassette deck, cranked for all she’s worth!
American Girl by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Kashmir by Led Zeppelin
Here I Go Again by Whitesnake
Only You by The Platters
Mack the Knife by Bobby Darin
Copperhead Road - Steve Earle
Hey, I don’t know if it’s classic rock, but it gets turned up to 11 every time.
ETA: Some classic AC/DC like “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Want to Rock and Roll),” “Dirty Deeds,” “Highway to Hell.” Cranked to 11 for sure.
What, no Foghat? How about “Fool For The City” or “I Just Want To Make Love To You”
Someone mentioned “Ride My See Saw” by the Moody Blues. And I thought I was the only person who cranks that one up.
“Hey Joe” by Jimi Hendrix. The guitar solo and the walk up the bass in the middle is magical.
Definitely Hendrix’s “All Along the Watchtower.” I have said many times that I could hear that song every day for the rest of my life and never tire of it. In fact, I told my wife that if I go first I want it played at my funeral.
“With You There to Help Me” from Jethro Tull’s excellent “Benefit.” It’s Tull of the first order.
“Talk Talk” by the long-forgotten 60s psychedelic group The Music Machine. Way ahead of its time.
Down By The River, Neil Young And Crazy Horse.
Really, anything by Neil Young And Crazy Horse.
Kind of a deep cut to be considered Classic Rock, but…**Monster **by Steppenwolf.
Anything from** Rumors **by Fleetwood Mac. Lindsay Buckingham is an under appreciated talent, IMHO.
