Born To Run-Springsteen

Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting–Elton John

1812 Overture

I’m partial to songs that give explicit instuctions to do so:

“Shapes of Things” off Truth by Jeff Beck. The liner notes (remember those?) say, “This must be played at maximum volume whatever phonograph (remember those?) you use.”

Ogdens Nut Gone Flake by the Small Faces. The label on the LP (remember those?) instructs, “For amazing results this record should be played at full volume.”

Both albums were released in 1968 - what a great year for music!

Live And Let Die

Thus Spake Zarathustra (at least the opening bars)

According to the liner notes, Steve Hackett’s “Please Don’t Touch”:

“For maximum effect this track should be listened to as loudly as possible with as much treble and bass as your system can muster. Not to be played to people with heart conditions or those in severely hallucinogenic states of mind.”

Brave and Crazy, Melissa Etheridge

7th Symphony, Beethoven

Locomotive Breath - Jethro Tull
The Chain - Fleetwood Mac

“Is this the real life…”

Ditto “Live and let die.” (duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh)

“And now I commmmmmme to you with ooooooopen arms!”

“We’re not gonna take it! No! We’re not gonna take it!”

“Hello. Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me…”
