Just got a new ipod touch, and was thinking about what movies to download onto it. The likes of Casablanca, Godfather, Princess Bride, Star Wars… ya know, standard SD fare 
Anyone have any thoughts on good experiences with this, ones to avoid, etc?

First video I ever bought was Blade Runner. Never bought a laser disc. First DVD was The Big Blue. First itunes movie was Under the Tuscan Sun.
My best itunes video purchase though was Dr Horrible which since it’s a musical can serve double duty in audio only playlists
As to what to avoid, I think anything with too much dark tones probably doesn’t show up as well / may not do as well in the compression. I think compression might also affect movies with a lot of camera jostling like Transformers but I’m not sure.
I wonder about some of the really panoramic ones. Princess Bride has a lot of wide shots which might not “work” on a tiny screen. Godfather, on the other hand, is a lot of single isolated shots and ultimately you’re really listening to GF as much as watching it.
The first video I loaded onto my iPhone were two episodes of Firefly(“Objects In Space” and “War Stories”) and Army of Darkness. All bear up to multiple viewings while stuck in traffic, etc.
For the ipod maybe, but iphone and ipod touch have landscape screens…
