Clayton’s still on his park bench, working on completing hour #4 , so I’m doing his Doping for him. He wrote down some stuff for me to type here (typos corrected by me).

Hello to all, doing fine here. Very peaceful. If any of you have requests for signs (Palve will take pics for the website) just post them here.
I took panoramic pics (just took like 8 pics side by side). They’ll be up on the site in a while.
Have a good one,
Clay
(Journal so far is below)
Start: 9:39 a.m. Writing in a permanent marker, Sharpie. Forgot a pen, will try to get sne soon. I’m eating those mini carrots, good breakfast.
10:20: Not much going on, a little chilly, but that’ll change soon (I have been watching the boundary between the shadow and the sun move closer and closer to me). Read some of the book “No Logo”. Pretty interesting.
10:25: A state prisoner van passed by. An inmate waved. Not sure what to think, just glad they didn’t stop. Guy across the street just came out on his second cigarette break from Mailboxes Etc.
10:35: Son of a bitch. I was taking pictures to try to make a panoramic view and a huge-ass SUV parks right in front of me.
10:39: 1 hour down. It’s getting warmer, I see the boundary between shadow and sunlight is creeping ever closer. Thankfully the SUV moved after only a few min. These mini carrots are good, but I gotta ration them.
10:55: Someone just carried a large chair past me and down the road out of sight. Little kids are playing with little poppers, the things you throw on the ground and they make a loud pop !
11:13: A guy just walked past carrying skis. Go figure, it’s like 80[sup]o[/sup]. I can now stick my foot into the sunlight. Shoo! Shoo!
11:20: The guy carrying the skis just went past in the other direction.
11:30: Palve’s dad drove past.
11:47: More than 2 hours done. Just talked with my 8th grade English teacher.
12:07: Palve’s mom just waved hello.
12:12: A red truck trying to park barely missed hitting me. Driver was very apologetic. The small hole that used to hold the antenna now holds a feather for some reason. I wonder how they keep it from falling out…
12:39: 4 hours down. Palve just stopped in. Nothing else to note.
12:55: Yay. Palve brought a Snickers bar.
A sign suggestion:
“Honk if you’re a Doper!”
Although… maybe not. P’r’aps “Honk if you dig the SDMB!” instead?
Where is all of this going on?
Big city? Small town? Are there lots of people passing by, or is it fairly quiet?
It’s probably going to be a long day for him…
Oh, I forgot. Pics for “the website” - what website would that be?
See this thread for the set-up.
Where is he, exactly? If it’s convenient I might stop by to say “Hi.”
If he’s in Schenectady or Cohoes or some such place, I’ll give it a miss.
Proposed sign:
"Look Out Behind You!"

This is happening in a small village in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State.
When the pictures get uploaded to the website, I’ll post the link up here.
He’s doing pretty well without too many liquids, and the sun just set behind the buildings across the street, so he’s not too hot.
I’ll give him the sign suggestions now, as I’m just on my way out to visit him again.
How about a sign:
I’m a Doper, YMMV.

More journal entries from Clayton:
1:45: My writings are becoming less frequent due to the fact that NOTHING IS HAPPENING! Aack. bored.
1:55: There’s an SUV parked to my right and a large van parked to my left. Both with New Jersey plates. I feel scared/small.
2:15: Palve brought me a pen. Yay, and the big van left.
2:23: Palve sneezed.
3:15: Boredom has hit. I’ll read some more of “No Logo”.
3:52: A guy just walked past with a very large aloe plant and a beer.
4:15: Palve keeps on moving a pebble just out of the shade of a nearby building by just a small distance, then remarks with amazement when the shadow passes over it.
4:17: YAY! Kerri (works at the bookstore) brought me pudding cups!
5:50: Some shops are starting to close.
6:15: Just realized there are clocks in the window across the street. Watching them also. The bookstore is closed now. I can hear the news faintly from an above window, something about Iraq.
6:45: Remembered I needed a manila envelope for some business papers. Yelled over and asked the price. 25 cents was the answer. “Come on in” she said. I explained my predicament. They were amused and refused payment for the envelope (and they delivered!)
7:00: The paper came and interviewed me. They said it couldn’t be anonymous Oh well. At least I don’t go to school in this town anymore, that could seriously get my ass kicked. And Palve’s mom just went to go visit Palve’s sister in college. She stopped by and said she’d bring me back some pizza. Yay.
7:35: Damn it’s getting cold!
7:55: It’s getting much darker now.
8:13: Palve brought flashlight, Sobe, and mini 3 Musketeers bars. Pizza will come soon. Yay.
And those pictures are up. Just click “Park Bench” on the menu at the left.

I just have to say, this is pretty damned exciting. I’m on the edge of my seat… wait, I just took my books off of my chair… ah, no longer on the edge of my seat, but still waiting to hear what happens next.

I have the journal from 11:30 on, but I’m too cold and tired to post it now. My fingers are frozen (hindering typing) and I’m very sleepy, so I’ll just post the most recent entry.
3:10: I was listening to music from an apartment upstairs for a while, about 5 min ago they went to bed.
A guy (same one who brought me my 2:00 meal) came up to me and said “You may say you don’t have a reason, but everything has a reason. I really don’t know you and you don’t knew me, but the thing I know about you is that you’re keeping a secret. The secret is the reason you’re here doing this.”
He’s right. I guess the real reason is because I want to give people a break from their everyday lives.
Umm…interesting photo set-up on the web page.
BTW, what does Scheefers sell?
I got beat up.
at 5:15 this morning 3 guys came up and beat the shit out of me for no fucking reason. A guy across the street came out as the guys left, he took care of me until the police came.
I’m sick of all of this, sick of this town, sick of the people there, sick of it all.
Fuck it.
I’m going to bed.

Nevermind, I just looked at his pics and I know where he is. It sucks that some assholes could find it good sport to beat someone up for no reason.
Tell him we hope he’s okay.
