Rah rah.
Did you hear the speech?
What’s meant to be so inspiring about speeches is what the speaker says. Perhaps you ought to listen to one sometime.
If Hilary gave the same speech, would people say it was inspiring?
How in the hell would I know? The obvious answer is, she isn’t giving the same speech, and that’s the point. What she is saying is not inspiring people in the same way that Obama is.
Meh. Some people are good orators, some people have great speechwriters. I’m just not necessarily sure that being inspiring and giving good soundbites translate into being a good president.
But Reagan won. Twice, and not by small margins. If you’re going hard for a Democrat to win, don’t you want to nominate the candidate likeliest to win?
Given that every informed opinion appears to be that there really isn’t a lot of difference between Obama and Clinton in hard policy, and there’s no obvious reason to believe one is substantially smarter or more capable than the other, it strikes me as being the case that a person who prefers either HRC or BO to a Republican winning should, logically, choose Obama, who (obviously, at least to me) has a much better chance of winning a general election.
This is the equivalent of saying, “First Lady is a ceremonial position. Since that’s Hillary’s only experience, then she shoudn’t be President.” It reduces Obama to a caricature painted by the other side. Any reasonable person would actually read Obama’s policies and judge him on his substance, character, and personality–evidence for all of which is available on his website, and in many of his speeches. If policy isn’t your thing, and you don’t want to read his policy plans (which are considerably more detailed than Hillary’s) you might be interested in his discussion of religion and politics, here .
BO is my candidate precisely because he is inspring and a great orator.
Ok, this is funny!
No idea who this Bryan guy is who’s posting these results for the Maine caucuses on Google, but if he’s right, we’re going to see the official results start widening more and more, just like we did in yesterday’s contests.
Where’s the key to that map?
ETA: Nevermind. The list of cities to the left of the map makes it clear what the two colors mean.
-FrL-
Holy cow, it’s a landslide!
Not just going by the colors on the map, but the numbers to the left show just how wide the margin is.
Where can I find poll numbers for Texas and Ohio?
-FrL-
Latest: Obama 57% Clinton 42%
That’s an live link, so by the time you click it, those numbers are subject to change.
Doesn’t that make her look like she’s losing?
What kind of campaign manager would allow for such a move?
-FrL-
No clue. But Obama was just endorsed by yet another Texas Newspaper: [ul][li]The El Paso Times recommends that El Pasoans voting in the March 4 Democratic presidential primary cast their votes for Barack Obama.[/ul][/li]
Earlier, I posted in another thread that he was endorsed by the San Antonio Express-News.
All these endorsements, her having to loan her campaign money, and now replacing her campaign manager, added to all of the decisive victories Obama’s been enjoying the past 2 days, I think puts the writing on the wall. She’s toast.
Just heard that on NPR…Interesting - certainly can’t be a positive when the campaign manager get’s fired. Don’t know yet how it will effect her campaign.
Hey Shayna!
Chalk up one more win for Obama over Clinton. . .
I’m not going to believe that until she’s beheaded, staked through the heart, mouth filled with garlic, lips sewn shut with silver wire and buried at a crossroads at a new moon by nuns.
But from your keyboard to Og’s Mighty Ears!
Hahahahahaahahahaha!!! Too funny!!!
