I just bought a used pleather chair (it was in a Jim Carrey movie!) but it still has the used furniture smell on it. How can I get it out? Folks on the internet suggest all sorts of strange things like putting flowers in it. I want a chemical solution!

Fabreeze works wonders.
You should test a small inconspicuous bit first, but try ammonia. Cheap and cheerful, it does NOT leave a smell and cleans almost anything. I only suggest a test first because on some items it might remove the color. I imagine pleather will be fine though.
