Cleveland Browns turnaround bandwagon

I read that the Browns are one more road loss away from tying the all-time record for consecutive losses on the road.

Why is Hue Jackson still the head coach? I mean, seriously? He’s clueless.

ESPN’s fantasy app is reporting that Jackson was just fired.

Wow. I have the power!

I wonder what the clash with Haley was about? And why Haley would win out with the front office over the head coach?

Presumably its the handling of Mayfield?

Haley has been fired as well. Don’t have a link yet, but just got an alert from the NFL app.

So Hue and Haley are both out. Well, that’s surprising. And yet, not. It does seem like the team is getting worse. Apparently they will just hit the reset button yet again.

Browns figured out in 8 games what it took the Steelers 85 to realize: Haley is a suboptimal coach. This shows a perspicacity uncommon to the Browns.

Let’s point out one simple fact: organizational dysfunction at this level is a reflection of ownership. Can we get the NFL to fire the owners and hire new ones? Cleveland deserves better.

Wonder if this is the return of Gregg Williams to head coaching.

Was he ever an NFL head coach? In any case, he’s the only reason I can’t jump on the Browns turnaround wagon. He’s a despicable thing masquerading as a human being and shouldn’t be allowed to be in the league, even as a consessions cashier.

Williams? He was HC in Buffalo a couple of seasons in the early 00’s, IIRC. It did not go well, but, to be fair, it’s Buffalo; HC gigs rarely go well for anyone not named Marv Levy there.

Yup, that was his only previous head coaching gig, from 2001-2003. His overall record there was 17-31, though he did get the Bills to 8-8 in 2002.

Good thing he’s not in Buffalo, but in Cleveland where HC careers thrive.

In a truly unusual move from Cleveland, it took them a mere 8 games to realize what it took Pittsburgh 85 games to figure out: Todd Haley sucks. He’s a garbage person who endlessly wastes the talent he’s given. Half a season of HaleyBall and they had enough. I wish Pittsburgh had done the same before they wasted so much talent for so long.

As for Hue, it’s too bad, he seems a nice guy, but that doesn’t win games.

well we get to see how this pans out…….is any of the understaff a point of inspiration?

That’s what Jeff Fisher’s problem was too. Everyone loved him and nobody ever had anything bad to say about him but he just couldn’t win. The Rams ditched him and their first season without him they won the division, second season without him and they’re the best team in football.

Too bad Sean McVay can’t be head coach of two teams at once.

Fact of the day: no team in the last 40 years has had a +11 turnover ratio and a losing record.

The timing of the firings is quite odd. The Browns are up for getting an ass pounding next week against KC, then they have their bye.

Why hire an interim coach just to take that beating, when you could let the current coach take the beating (and then fire them in the wake of it) and then give the new interim coach the bye week to prepare?

If you know you’re going to fire the coach, why keep him around any longer than absolutely necessary?
