Early in the game, the Rangers took an early 5-1 advantage. Meanwhile, throughout the contest, the Indians’ fans in attendance continually misbehaved. A woman ran out to the Indians’ on-deck circle and lifted her shirt, and a naked man sprinted to second base as Grieve hit his second home run. A father and son team got into the act one inning later, running out in the outfield and mooning the bleacherites. The ugliness escalated when Cleveland’s Leron Lee hit a line drive into the stomach of Ferguson Jenkins, dropping the hurler to the ground. The fans in the upper deck of Cleveland Stadium cheered, then chanted, “Hit 'em again! Hit 'em again! Harder! Harder!”

My dad was there at the game. He didn’t get in to any of the fighting and whatnot - he just really wanted cheap beer

Goes to show how times have changed in Cleveland - we’ve gone from a drunken ethnic town (Nickel Beer Night) to a fat ethnic town (Dollar Dog Night(s)). At least the dollar dogs keep people placated instead of rowdy!

The Indians just had a turn back the clock day against Detroit and both teams wore their 1977 unis. Detroit won. My brother said, “They never could win in those uniforms.”

Why would the Indians ever want to turn back the clock, unless it were for a lot longer than 30 years? They TOTALLY SUCKED in the 70’s.

And the 80’s, part of the 90’s, most of the 60’s, etc… :rolleyes:
