It guessed me at 36. I’m 50.
24 years old, laptop touchpad, lazing on the couch.
It thinks I’m 50+
I hypothesize that this test is actually collecting data about computer usage by age and location. The dots are a red herring.
They were only one year off for me! But I had to ‘click’ twice a few times because of me using a touchpad.
It guessed 33, I’m 50. Using a laptop with an optical mouse.
It was funny that before the test it said to make the window as big as possible, and even after maximizing the browser window I got a message that the window wasn’t big enough. Yet most of the test seemed to happen in the left half and upper two thirds of my screen, so I don’t know what they needed all the extra room for.
The red dot always moved in the same pattern in the group of circles, so after a while I was able to anticipate where it was moving to.
It guessed 24. I’m 26.
I’m sure monitor size and mouse tracking speed makes a difference, but they claim they consider 60 factors in addition to just speed.
I was impressed at its accuracy, but based on figures in this thread, mine may just have been a fluke.
I am 49. It thought that I was 29. I was feeling really good about that until I saw some of the other replies here.
I am 56. It guessed that I am 10. Ten!!! Should I be proud or dismayed?
The guess was 41. I’m 59. I use a wireless mouse that isn’t always very responsive - I wonder how different it would have been if I’d used a wired mouse?
Guess 31
Actual 48
I am almost 53 years old… it guessed me as…
…10!!!
I’m 68. The app guessed 31. :dubious:
It thought I was seven years older than I am.
It guessed 34. I’m 27.
Guessed 30, I’m 42.
I have to wonder if the demographics among the middle aged folks here at the Dope is part of why we’re coming up with such large discrepancies in this age group. I’ve noticed that they tended to be closer to the actual age of the younger posters in this thread.
Among those of us who are middle aged (or older), most of us skew toward jobs / careers that involve spending more time on a computer than, say, people who have spent their work lives sewing gloves, digging ditches, filling potholes or inserting tab A into slot B on the assembly line. Mouse and keyboarding skills are something we not only use outside of work, but a tool that we make our living with.
Guess: 30
Actual: 39
It thought I was 10 years old! (I’m 44)
It was off a bit for me. Said I was 31 and I’m a few days shy of 66.
I’m 45; it guessed 44.
