Clinton v Trump - The Stretch Run Thread

That article is a bit unclear, though. From what I read, it says that Hillary supposedly asked if they could drone him back in 2010, not now.

Let’s hope she never actually suggested such a thing.

He was still living in the UK at the time, so “droning him” would still have entailed a military strike against our single biggest geopolitical ally.

It’s so far outside the realm of possibility that it’s not even worth consideration. Assange is either deluded or trolling

Assange is definitely in line for assassination, right after they finally get around to killing Ted Nugent. :dubious:

The Clinton camp has definitely found a winning strategy, which is to needle Trump in order to goad him into ever-more-extreme fits of anger and incoherence. It doesn’t really matter on what topic - there’s plenty of substance, but substance doesn’t matter in this campaign; what’s key is that it annoys Trump.

I mentioned the USA Freedom Kids earlier. Assuming they still haven’t been paid and are still pursuing a case, imagine how annoyed Trump would be if the Clinton campaign (or Hillary personally) paid the outstanding bill, and casually dropped that bomb at an appropriate moment. Clinton paying Trump’s bills? That’ll rankle.

So she may have spoken like that in a closed meeting, according to unreliable sources. The Donald is all for executing spies, considers it part of what used to make America great even.

Yep, the hypocrisy, it burns. They’re outraged by the completely unconfirmed rumor that Clinton said this only because Assange is claiming to have some dirt on Clinton. When the Collateral murder video was released back in 2010 plenty of right wing pundits were calling for extreme measures against Assange.

Nah - that’s smart and good business to get someone else to pay my bills,
And it doesn’t matter if I’m not man enough to pay my own…

Anyway - Trump is doing these kids a FAVOUR - see how much publicity they are getting from being screwed over by The Don? Isn’t that better than being paid?

For any other creditor, that might work. For three young girls doing a performance for Trump’s own campaign? There’s no way it looks good.

(The obvious downside is if the group doesn’t want to be used as a weapon to hammer Trump, in which case leave them alone and wish them well with their court case.)

It’s okay - clearly Donald’s campaign has been having a few cashflow issues, and Hillary was happy to help to ensure those adorable girls got the money he owes them.

That argument has always worked so well in the past. I seem to recall Martha Stewart pulling that one too.

Florida is blue in the nowcast… that’s not Florida usual color, is it?

They still can never beatthis one in the Post.

My favorite was one that never ran, “I’m with Racist” (about Paul Ryan).

Oh, and “Another Prick for the Wall.”

I’m guessing it’s more like this:

Ecuador, which is housing Assange, has probably been told in no uncertain terms that ‘if you release more potentially election-altering dirt from Russia, you’d better goddamned well hope that Trump wins.’ At which point, I’m guessing someone from within the Ecuadorean embassy probably tapped Julian on the shoulder and said “I think it’s your bedtime.”

Holy crap, the now cast was 72% for Clinton yesterday, now 79%. Yes please, lets hope it gets to 80% and stays there.

Even that would be very problematic. DNC secrets are not national security secrets and while acquiring them may be illegal it’s not espionage. Nice to see Democrats get angry with our foreign adversaries about something though. Like costing them an election.

I can think of one Democrat who boycotted the Olympics out of anger over the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. And one Republican who didn’t learn that invading Afghanistan never works.

An ineffectual gesture vs. an effective one? Invading Afghanistan worked fine. The Taliban and Al Qaeda have mostly been driven into Pakistan and our government is still there despite our mostly leaving. How long did the Soviets’ preferred government last?

Lol @ Adaher.

Yet another Texas paper wholeheartedly endorses Clinton, making it, I think, 7 for 7 in our largest cities:

Dallas
Fort Worth
Houston
Austin
San Antonio
Corpus Christi
El Paso

SA, CC, and EP endorsed HRC this w/end with CC’s coming out today:

Clinton’s got the support of all the powers that be, no question, from Wall Street to the media to the ivory towers to the permanent shadow government itself.

All Trump has is ordinary people.

Simple farmers. People of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know… morons.

The Soviets learned their lesson and decided that Afghanistan is ungovernable. The US still hasn’t figured this out. Much of Afghanistan will never be under government control no matter which government is propped up by whichever outside forces. Yet we continue to pour billions into this rathole, pretending that someday Afghanistan will be a democratic beacon of liberty.
