Clinton v Trump - The Stretch Run Thread

“Like an octopus” must have been invented by a man? Does he even know any women? Every woman I know has used that term, or heard it used by another woman, on multiple occasions, to describe a very hands-y man. It’s a common metaphor. (Or simile, I forget which and I’m only on my first cup of coffee.) Dumbass.

One of those times when the Oxford comma creates ambiguity.

Weirdest thing in that article, to me:

:dubious: The dude really is doubling down on being the poster child for selfish callous narcissists. “Getting injured makes you a LOSER!! Ha ha, loser, you’re so weak!!”

If those are the topics then Clinton most definitely wants the debates to happen, there are a lot of landmines for Trump there.

Sure those topics will allow Trump to trot out a lot of the shallow headlines that his base will absolutely love, but not only will those same racist headlines appall many neutrals, the topics will also highlight Trumps complete lack of knowledge about the issues.

I predict Trump would walk way genuinely convinced that he nailed it but a quiet majority watching would finally confirm to themselves that he doesn’t actually know what he is talking about, and decide to vote accordingly.

My Elections Office says absentee ballots will be sent out next week. Can’t wait for mine!

EDIT: Go, Hillary! (In case there was any doubt who I’m voting for.)

I am delighted that they specifically referred to Trump talking to Howard Stern about his daughter being a “piece of ass.”

Really, you can’t tarnish slime.

I just read the original lawsuit threat.

I didn’t know that Trump University had a law school…

The Washington Post has now endorsed Clinton. Love this excerpt:

“No, we are not making this endorsement simply because Ms. Clinton’s chief opponent is dreadful.”

Nope. Hillary needs to be the bigger man, as they say, and so far she has shown that she is. Very Presidential of her. Trump just looks like an idiot the more he opens his mouth, not to mention a creepy pervert. Ever wonder WHY he purchased the Miss Universe pageant? Wonder no more. Motive, means and opportunity. Hillary has nothing to fear from the Donald or his followers.

Eric Trump actually sent an email to Trump supporters using Nate Silver’s “Only Men Vote” map, and called it “momentum.”

Add me to the side who thinks Clinton bowing out of the third debate would be a mistake.

Damn… now I have to subscribe to the NYT. Reporting and wit like that should be rewarded.

Most certainly, especially when she keeps invading his space like in the second one.

I agree Hillary shouldn’t pull out of the debate, it would look bad. I sure wouldn’t mind if it got cancelled for some other reason though. The last one embarrassed me as a fellow human. Uggh.

Yeah, only pussies worry about massive, irreversible brain damage.

So whaddya suppose Manafort’s up to these days?

OK, so maybe I’m being paranoid about the 3rd debate. It’s just that this election is a tipping point in history, and would really rather not live in this country if it goes the wrong way. And I’m too fucking old to be moving to Tasmania.

Perhaps he’d like to meet some NFL linemen for a brief counseling session on race relations and concussions. Some folks just can’t learn from reading or watching; they have to experience it first hand.

So, Time magazine did put Trump in the cover as having a meldown back in August.

Well, they realized that now it is worse:

Total
Meltdown.

I was sufficiently concerned about Hillary making a misstep in the first debate that I didn’t watch it. I don’t think that Trump is capable of doing better than he did in the second debate, and we know he’s capable of doing a lot worse. If she was able to hold her ground like she did in the second despite his attacks I’m not worried about the third.
