Clinton v Trump - The Stretch Run Thread

Perhaps it’s meant as a legacy for the Trump offspring. Ivanka’s husband is apparently directly involved; she could be a significant draw to a Trump Network.

Maybe. That’s still a lot of jack to spend, work to do, etc, all for a woman who probably doesn’t want to be a Right Wing spokespiece in the first place.

She may view it as a platform for her brand, clothes, site etc. The other Trumplings may use it to primarily promote right wing ideology- she may not.

Trump tweeted:

Is anyone else reminded of the 2008 case of the Rep girl who staged her own mugging and carved a B in her cheek? That, too, happened two weeks for an election.

Yep, Trump Jr is the new demagogue, the other male Trumplets do their machinations in the background and she does occasional fluff pieces on air and promotes her clothing, perfume, jewelry etc.
Let’s hope they go out of business just as fast as Trump Steaks and Trump’s airline did…

Yeah, that’s what I thought as well. The phrasing of the graffiti seems odd to me. “Nazi Republicans get out or else … because we liberals want to smoke legal marijuana cigarettes and force abortions on all Christian women.”

At this point, I think that she not only wants to beat Trump, she wants to humiliate him and the Republican party. I refuse to believe that after all of the crap that the other side has tried to sling at her, Hillary does not have the thought of bringing the reckoning down upon the republicans or their figurehead. I don’t think there will be a let up now, I think there will be a pouring on in an attempt to not only destroy Trump, but also to influence right side voters to stay home because the cause is so lost.

Fox News better be very afraid. The new Trump Network has the potential to carve off about 50% of the Fox viewership - the nuttier half. All Trump has to do is proclaim that Fox News is part of the vast left wing media conspiracy, and his supporters will simply believe it. No evidence needed.

Can FoxNews survive without the far right wing crazies? I don’t think so.

It would probably be in the best interests of FoxNews to try to crush this little endeavour before it starts. Time for them to start making fun of Trumps "rigged election " claims. Or simply call Trump’s bloviating what it really is; subversive, anti-democratic and dangerous.

More power to 'em!

And of course, the GOP can’t smugly and safely put the Trump debacle behind them if he keeps stirring the shit and making his followers increasingly angry at not only a Clinton presidency, but a Republican party which they see as having betrayed their fearless leader. He’s the grift that keeps on giving.

A local Democratic candidate for Congress is running ads attacking the Republican incumbent by linking him to Trump.

Yeah, a lot of them are doing that.

The Trump Network wouldn’t carve off 15% if that. Actually, if they could do that I’d be really amazed. It would be no more a threat to Fox News than Alex Jones’s crazypants show is.

I mean, uh, how many of Trump’s business enterprises succeed long term if they aren’t skyscrapers or golf courses? Eaten a Trump Steak lately? Taken any courses at Trump University? Trump doesn’t know any more about running a news network than he does about selling steaks.

Fox News is merely part - a SMALL part - of the Fox Entertainment Group supercorporation, a company with more broadcasting and content generation talent than Donald Trump has ever met, which makes more money in a good quarter than Trump has ever had at one time. His trying to compete with them would be like you and I slapping together a baseball team of the best athletes we knew and then telling Major League Baseball we were ready to play their best squads.

Anyway, who says Trump will remain popular? His schtick is that he A WINNER, after all. He’s fabulous, the best, just the best candidate, terrific. But it’s becoming increasingly likely that on November 9 he will wake up a LOSER. His fans will be disillusioned. If Trump can’t work miracles, they’ll look for a new Messiah.

Nah, that’s Eric, not Jr.

I doubt very much that a network dedicated to the nuttiest of Conservatives could be commercially viable at all. They’d be so toxic that I doubt they’d be able to attract anything more than the same mix that Glenn Beck and Limbaugh get. Maybe less. Especially if Trump goes full Alt-Right with it.

Sadly, the Simpson’s Fox Helicopter joke (“Not Racist, but #1 with racists”) would no longer be true, as an openly racist network emerges to cater to America’s Deplorables.

You heard it here first.

On NPR just now they were saying the Trump network might be by subscription, a la Netflix, Hulu, etc.

Also, I see an ongoing shopping program. Perfect vehicle for Ivanka’s clothing and anything else the Trumpsters care to peddle-- hunting stuff, survivalist gear, home schooling products, electronics. The network will get a percentage, of course.

Trump is still polling at 40%. 40%.

Those people are going to want to be angry after the election. They will need more crazy. They will want the crazy ramped up to 11.

Alex Jones and his crazypants show will likely by a foundation of the Trump Network. As will Limbaugh. And Hannity. And other lunatic conspiracy theorists. It will be ALL CRAZY, ALL THE TIME. It will be a spectacle. Racism will be embraced and not held back.

You bigly overestimate the sanity of the New American Alt-Right.

Unless Trump can get people to pony up for web subscriptions. He could perhaps get enough [del]suckers[/del] subscribers to make such a venture self-sustaining, at least for a time.

Does anyone think Eric Trump looks like a younger version of the Nazi vampire from The Strain?
