Clinton v Trump - The Stretch Run Thread

Bravo
BTW you could color Utah a sort of beige/orange if that were needed. Or maybe pale pink.

I like orange: it really goes with the Desert West location of his base.

There’s an even more important distinction that’s being glossed over.

If an elections official comes forward and says, “60% of black voters who attempted to vote in our district were unable to do so because their names were not on the rolls, whereas these names appeared on test rolls printed out in early October,” or, “Our system detected an intrusion at 8:23 pm on November 8, and we can find no record of any votes in our district prior to 8:23 pm,” or, “Our district shows that 100% of votes were cast for Clinton, despite earlier records showing that 43% of our voters registered as Republican,” then yeah, it’s totally legitimate for the election to be disputed, headed up by the officials responsible.

What’s not legitimate is for a candidate, with no evidence except for a general feeling that he’s a winner, to dispute the election publicly.

Niiice.

I’ve started a thread about mental math tricks http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=19715590

Well, it’s obviously a step up from running for President: http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/20/politics/donald-trump-junior-running-step-down/index.html

I don’t think so. You know what else is orange this year?

Of course you do.

It has ceased to be.

He’s not dead, he’s campaigning.

Utterly utterly appropriate, as my pre-teen daughter was required to watch debate #2 for her social studies class, and she asked questions about key bits, which led to me wife and I giving her the Trump Talk. Not what we expected or wanted, but it ended up being something that “made her angry, then stronger.”

Speaking of which, another woman comes forward. Wrenching.

whats this about Hillary getting questions ahead of time for a debate? (just watched 8 minutes of Trumps ‘Will accept if I win’ rally in Ohio - he went on and on about that).

FWIW 538 is using a purple shade for him.

Well, Trump gives a fuck about what he says post election. I think this is his goal – he figures there’s a good chance he’ll lose, and this gives him an excuse to call press conferences (“Will he finally concede? Tune in at ten to find out!”)

In the I-should-know-but-don’t department, when does the EC meet? I’m thinking that’s the point at which this fucking election will actually be over. If there is a real effort to invalidate the voting results, the EC meeting will be postponed if necessary, right?

December 19th. We have a full on constitution crisis on our hands if there was enough fraud to significantly alter the election to the point where the EC vote would be delayed.

Trump just said at a rally that he would accept the results of the election "if I win."So much for those attempting to spin this.

Trumps a “Heads I win, tails you lose” kinda guy.

God only knows. Wallace said no one had the questions early although the broad topics were known (and widely reported on) days ago.

I guess Clinton cheated by knowing stuff. Rigged!

After the Billy Bush Bus talk thing hit the news, I (and IIRC others here) was thinking the Clinton campaign would drop another turd into Trump’s punchbowl before the third debate. Tapes of him using the n-word were thought to perhaps be it.

Obviously that hasn’t happened. But that may be a timing issue, where the campaign felt that dropping any new story just before the debate may be viewed as a negative for the Clinton campaign.

But I was thinking – if they have something they’re holding and it’s not the n-word thing, what could it be? My guess is that some former girlfriend will come forward to say that Trump financed an abortion for her, with some kind of corroborating evidence (i.e., a copy of a cancelled check from Trump to the doctor).

OK, I guess I’m just fantasizing here…
