Clinton v Trump - The Stretch Run Thread

He should send another letter to Congress which says, “Please ignore my previous letter. I am a dickhead.”

There is a great chuckle in the Force.

And this too will stir the Trumpist CTers into a frenzy. Aided and abetted by Trump and his media stooges. The narrative will be “Of course Obama quashed the whole thing to rescue criminal Clinton’s campaign. How could it be otherwise?”

BREAKING: GOP judges lift court order prohibiting Trump campaign from intimidating voters

There’s another kind of letter he *really *needs to send now.

What part of freedom of speech and of assembly don’t you believe in, you Commie?

That’s pretty much the Sixth Circuit’s thought process I bet.

Suicide notes are not letters.

Right about now Trump is trying to wrestle his phone out of his aides hands. They are trying to keep him on message but the need to tweet may be irresistible. I expect him to meltdown in his next speech.

He’s putting on some sunglasses and a fake mustache and sneaking off to Best Buy to buy a burner phone as we speak.

Astonishing that Betfair has moved from Trump 22% to Trump 15% on the “email probe” over. The odds move faltered at first, but has now resumed on decent volume.

Australia has the killer wildlife (& Pauline Hanson). New Zealand has same-sex marriage, plentiful rainfall, and Nude Blacks rugby. In any event I’m starting to feel better about the election, but I did stock up at the state store just in case.

Apparently, this was the break the Clinton campaign’s been waiting for!

Why? Who does this convince who wasn’t already convinced? He could tell his thralls that Comey is a Hillary plant, that it was zombies, black magic performed by Maoist lesbians, they’ll buy it. Hillary voters already didn’t buy the shit, so no change there. Only effect I can see is the few people who were terminally indecisive and nudged over the line by Comey’s infernal emission but do they vote early?

So, what? Lets say some Trump goons have a moment of clarity, and say to themselves “Well, shit, my team cheats! So, fuck 'em!” And lets say they both vote for Hillary, or stay home…

I’m surprised the betting markets moved so dramatically. Is this obviously a good development for Clinton? My intuition is “obviously, yes” but an argument can be made the other way. Namely, the candidate mostly in the news cycle is at the disadvantage this election, and this just puts the email issue into the minds of voters again.

For the record, I don’t really think this is the break the Clinton campaign’s been waiting for. I think that happened when Trump won the primaries.

They are when they start off “To whom it may concern…”.

Bizarrely, I’m watching CNN and getting an ad for Fox News, paid for apparently by a local corporation (this is in New Mexico). It’s quite funny - are CNN basically saying that the deplorables who watch Fox News are a fixed subset of the population, no ad will do anything to increase or decrease the number of people who choose Fox over CNN, so we’ll just take their money?

Well, the guy DID have a paper sign. And we all know how dangerous a really bad paper cut can be.

I could be mistaken but I believe it’s the cable operator (Direct TV etc.) that gets to place ads. (Though it does seem a fair question as to whether particular stations can prohibit particular ads from running during their airtime.)

Don’t forget ‘The Silmarillion’.

Peter Jackson could whip it out in about 25-30 parts.
