Ralph Reed’s comments strike me as even more callous than Tony Perkins’s:

The comments Trump made are gross, as his social conservative backers concede. But, to these Evangelicals, “grab them by the pussy” doesn’t sound quite as bad as “President Hillary Clinton.”

It’s actually pretty nice that these guys have been so well set up to have their incredible hypocrisy exposed. Never again can they get away with wagging their fingers and lecturing us that “character matters”.

The religious right has become a parody of itself at this point. 35 years ago, or 20 years ago, or even 10 years ago, the idea that the leaders of the Moral Majority would be going to war for a candidate who bragged about adultery and sexual assault would have been considered impossible.

Now it’s par for the course.

You wrote Ana Navarro but for whatever reason I pictured Katrina Pierson, and I thought that Trump’s most incompetent surrogate (setting aside his sons, because they are familiy and what are you going to do) used that word.

My head damn near asploded, then I realized how confused I was. And yet, this year, it seemed plausible.
