For real?
If you grab someone’s genitals without waiting, without obtaining consent for the grab, that’s sexual assault. That’s acting without consent. That’s not ambiguous.

“Bragging about sexual conquests” is not the same thing as “bragging about sexual assaults”.
Well, even if it’s not “a big upside”, figure it’s not a big downside. Imagine you’re a man who’s endorsed Trump, and you haven’t rescinded; you’re going to get asked about that, in public, and on live national television, right? Do you want that?
Do you want to stammer a half-hearted defense of the guy while cold-eyed women stare into your soul? Do you want to double down, saying it’s just locker-room talk, no big deal, boys will be boys, I’ve said stuff like that myself, let’s give the man a pass for grabbing women by the pussy?
Or do you want to make that problem go away, right now, before anyone asks?
But this particular level of pig is not the norm. Not the majority. And should not be in charge.
Heck, The Other Waldo Pepper, among some people there is admiration for going down with the ship even when the sinking is the captain’s own fault. And I already think less of those who chose to bend their knee and bow their head in fear of the wrath of “Trump voters”, but I know others will come up on 2020 and say “well, I can’t condemn them for it, once he was the candidate what could they do?”
People keep asking “Who are these undecideds? And why would this new disgusting revelation move them to vote for Hillary if all the other damning evidence against Trump hasn’t done so?” I think in past elections the undecideds were people genuinely torn between the two candidates. I’m starting to suspect that in this election the undecideds are people torn between voting for Hillary and not voting at all. The people who typically lean GOP, but know that Trump is bad news, yet are having a hard time coming to terms with voting for Hillary Clinton. White suburban some-college soccer moms, ferinstance. This may actually get them off the fence to vote for Hillary, rather than stay home on Nov. 8.
I predict the undecided #s will begin to drastically swing toward Hillary.
You think Clinton campaign operatives have had access to unaired, 11 year old B-roll footage from Access Hollywood for perhaps months? I think it is an extraordinary claim that I’m not ready to buy into. It is possible, of course, that the Clinton camp knew of this video for a long time, but people also overestimate what opposition research is, thinking that it’s like what you see on TV where political detectives can get their hands on everything you’ve ever done.
And it is clear from the WaPo story on how the story broke that the video was being uncovered in two ways: the tip to the Post, and Access Hollywood was about to break the story at the same time. It sure sounds like the Access Hollywood discovery of the footage was independent of a tip.
There’s no way to know right now, of course, but it seems equally plausible that someone at Access Hollywood thought NBC News wasn’t moving on the story so they called the top reporter in the US on all things Trump.
And he has 5 children by 3 different women.
Then it won’t help them much. But that’s what I think the Republican party will do: pretend that Donald Trump didn’t happen.
That’s what I thought after the Bush administration. Obama’s victories should have both been massive blowouts. That they weren’t shows that Republicans are very good at being told to forget their own party’s mistakes.
When Republicans send their candidates, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending criminals, they’re sending rapists… And, I assume, some are good people.
Yeah, but what of it? Do you not think people who feel they have to do this to prove their man-cred are, deep down, assholes?
Nevertheless, I’m actually going to agree with Mace (if I understand the argument, which is not guaranteed): this, on its own, is not the campaign-ending reason not to vote for Trump. But I think we can all agree it doesn’t exactly make him a MORE attractive candidate, right?
[slow clap, building to massive applause]
I was with you up to the last part.
The RNC can nominate Pence or anyone else.
The early voters who already voted for Trump merely voted for the slate of electors pledged to Trump. If Trump withdraws, or is forced out, they have implicitly voted for those electors to make a reasoned decision for the candidate that they will vote for. (or see #3 below)
If some states can somehow force the electors to vote for Trump (and the constitutionality of this has never been challenged), then one of two things will happen:
a) Clinton wins more EVs than the combined Trump-Kasich (or Trump-Pence). Same result as before. Clinton wins.
b) Trump-Kasich combined win more than Clinton, but because of some state laws, Kasich does not win a majority. Election goes to House who elect Kasich.
In short, Trump can be replaced if the RNC wants to do so. I think that it NEEDS to do so for the party brand.
And just like that, taking into account Trump’s “evolution” regarding abortion, Trump did manage to remind all about how many deplorables are making their party to be the Pro-Rape-Pregnancy Republican Party.

.@realdonaldtrump: Were you lying or was sexual assault part of your action every day? It’s a simple question. You should have to answer it.
Don’t jump to conclusions. There might have been a carrier group on the base. #tailhook
This. It is easy for someone in the know to give a pointer to someone in the media, without actually breaking any duty of confidentiality or saying anything that can come back to bite them.
Who?
Oh yeah, that guy who lives in an attic in London.
