Trump is tired. He looks like he’s not sleeping, he’s not thinking clearly. In other words, he’s right where we want him for this debate.
I think McCain’s been taken prisoner again.
Not completely unlike Gary Hart challenging the media to find something wrong with him.

Yeah, all of his debate prep time, such as it is, is occupied by the latest disaster. And the last part of the tape shows exactly how he is going to attack, and I’m sure Hillary is ready for him.
I’ve heard comments that it was a video because the Trumpers didn’t trust him to stay on message live, and the content was clearly negotiated, since attacking the Clintons in his apology speech is just stupid.
I predict that if he does as badly Sunday as we expect, the downticket Republicans will be streaming for the exits. Maybe we can lock them.
I remember when Paterno said the same. Then he started begging to finish the year. Then… gone.
I said a few years ago how sad it was that the Governator was one of the few smartest Republicans left. He still is.
Until I pass a BAR exam I think I’ll table a debate on who is smarter than who ;).
But in this case where there is smoke, I expect it is likely there is fire. It would one thing if it was just some joe schmo boasting about how he is so irresistible all the ladies love it when he grabs their crotch. But Trump really does have a track record of complaints and a very obvious GIGANTIC ego to match.
Like I said, I don’t think it proves anything. It’s just a nasty, off-the-cuff comment by a pig of man. But much like I suspect O.J. Simpson is guilty but can’t prove it, I kinda suspect Trump is as well.
Of course I also agree this should be relatively small potatoes in the election, as his policies are already far more serious disqualifiers for the presidency than his nasty-ass personality. And I also agree everybody and their cousin should have already known he was a pig. But any port in the storm - I’m happy to see him with his tail in a crack of his own making over anything. If this puts a nail in the coffin of his candidacy, I am ecstatic. Couldn’t have happened to a “nicer” guy.
Fox News meteorologists are getting more airtime than they have all year up until now.
While admitting it’s still a very slim chance, CNN has already started detailing the process if Trump really does drop out. They said the rules are vague but basically there are two scenarios. One is a new convention, virtually impossible at this point. The other is the RNC would select a replacement, but it would not be a majority vote. Something about each state would have the same number of votes as at the convention, and states’ votes could be split.
He’s actually on the very short list of Republicans I’ve voted for. Not in the initial recall election against Davis ( which was a farce IMHO ), but in his subsequent run. I think he made a very real attempt at bipartisanship during his first term.
I feel like there’s a time-machine debate going on here where some posts have been transported from the Mad Men era where it has to be explained that grabbing a woman’s genitals or forcing kisses on women is a problem even if she doesn’t immediately slap him or threaten to have a word with her breadwinner husband.
If they expel Trump, his base will not support a replacement. And everybody will be filing against everybody else, lawyers will gather to feed. No chance it gets resolved quickly. Any way it goes, a big chunk of needed votes gets pissed away. The Republicans are playing Russian Roulette with an automatic.

). The clever folks who thought they could nominate a celebrity and not have all kinds of shit come out about said celebrity are seeing the chickens come home to roost. This is a guy who has been in the public eye for decades, mainly as an ego-charged, big mouthed buffoon. Well, they got what they deserved!!
Those aren’t chickens. Chickens can’t even actually fly, never mind circling overhead waiting for you to die.
The Republicans deserting Trump remind me of that scene in the 1993 movie “Dave” in which we see Bob Alexander(Frank Langella) left alone in his living room after only minutes before being surrounded by so-called “supporters” who are getting out while the getting is good.
Senator Thune is now calling on Trump to step down as well.
