I’m going to back you on this. The guy who sexually assaulted/harassed me was about that age, wealthy and my boss. And I’ve seen and heard tales of it over and over again from women.
I do think its gotten better. Legal and HR are much faster to tell these guys that the women are not employed for their benefit. And there aren’t many of that generation left in the corporate world. But Trump is of the age where everyone looked the other way.
If Trump hasn’t left a string of payoffs and gag orders behind him - I’d be shocked. And nothing I’ve learned in the past day has changed my thought that he’s been asaulting women and then legally gagging them for years.
Women don’t come forward with this sort of stuff. They won’t win. It comes down to he said she said. Trumps lawyers say they will countersue for slander and you’ll have a million dollars in legal bills. But, if you drop it, here is $30k - and a gag order.
The thing is, people who go to church on Sunday should have no business hiring a hit man/assassin at all.

I more think the problem is when you repeatedly acted like this was no big deal and when you said "Lots of guys are pigs. Lots. And the love talking about sex. Maybe not so much 60-year-old guys (I think Trump would have been about that age when he made the comments), but younger guys? Yep. And not just HS sophomores. Put guys together and bragging about sexual conquests is SOP. I hate to burst your protective bubble, but that’s the way it is. " as though this was just sex instead of thrusting himself on women without warning. And then said it wasn’t sexual assault to grab a woman by the pussy if she didn’t do anything to stop it.
The later stuff - that there are plenty of people who will engage in sexual assault if they think they have the power to do so without reprisal - isn’t sd much the problem to me is as the repeated insistence that there’s nothing assaultish about it and the snide “protective bubble” comments when talking about how men talk in the present day.
I understand the belief this won’t kill Trump’s campaign - it’s like a friggin’ immortal, surviving things that would destroy any other candidate - but not the repeated “guys totally talk like this all the time when not in mixed company” when we’re talking about men talking about just going up and groping women without indication, without determining or regarding consent before acting.

These leaks may have convinced me to vote for Hillary over a third party (Trump, obviously, was never in the running).
Character is what you are in the dark. These leaks indicate that Hillary is honest, introspective, rational, and pragmatic. These qualities had not been obvious to me from her public appearances–but they come through clearly in the leaks.
She acknowledges that politics is a lot of sausage-making; that while she had a middle-class upbringing, she no longer has a strong connection to them; that she supports free trade; and so on. A lot of stuff that might sound bad to the profoundly ignorant and those unwilling to take context into account, but satisfyingly honest to those looking for more than soundbites.
I’ll have to think more on whether I can actually support her, but that she’s qualified is now without question to me.
