I received a pro-Trump political mailer today. At least some of my neighbors received the same mailer. It says that Hillary won’t change a thing and that Donald Trump will make our communities strong again. It also says “Paid for by The New York Republican State Committee” and it is addressed to "The my lastname Household, so they must have used a mailing list. I’m a registered Democrat so I assume they’re sending them to a list of registered voters.
The weird thing is that I live about 20 miles outside of Philly. So apparently the New York Republican State Committee is spending money in PA.
I hope he’s claiming Hillary keeps Huma on as a rentgirl, and that she recites Muslim Brotherhood terrorist tracts while scissoring. Hasn’t that been the joke for the past year or so?
The intended “October Surprise” for him, which involved a bullshit made-up scandal where Clinton allegedly insulted Sanders voters at a fundraiser back in February by mockingly calling them “basement dwellers.” *
Then he interrupted that message that’s supposed to get Sanders supporters over to his side with self-aggrandizement that insulted Sanders and his supporters:
He mimicked Hillary’s wobbly moment at the 9/11 memorial. (Because mocking someone’s physical ailments went so well for him before.)
He again compared his temperament with Hillary’s:
Even-tempered Trump then got people to BOO at Lester Holt and President Obama.
He again thinks our country is the equivalent of a 3rd world country because you can’t acid-wash tweets. I guess he regrets that Hillary’s better at deleting shit than he is? I don’t even know what this means:
He told his supporters (mostly white) to vote and then go to “certain places” to make sure there weren’t any problems because “you know what I’m talking about…” Yes, Donald. Yes, we do.
He went on a tangent complaining about how movies aren’t as good as they used to be.
He complained about the microphone again. (Because the mic made him sound like a douchebag, apparently?)
He did indeed claim that Hillary wasn’t loyal to Bill, although graciously adding, “and why should she be?” Thrice-married adulterer Trump accusing Hillary of adultery. It is to laugh.
So… yeah. He is going rogue and unhinged. Kinda liking it, if I didn’t think Trump (and his alt-Right crowds) so incredibly dangerous.
= Which she didn’t. She was sympathetically saying that she understands why young people are disappointed with the process and with their situation, caught in the Great Recession and unable to get the sort of independence and security after college the way previous generations could. That’s why they followed Sanders because they wanted a fairer system. How is that insulting? I hope people don’t fall for this crap.
The 538 now cast has swung 24% in the last week towards Clinton! Keep it up Donnie, I want that percentage of winning to head down down down down and stay there.
It may be that they’re aware of his financial situation and believe that the only thing that could possibly save their inheritance would be him being elected President, so they don’t want to rock the boat by risking a leak about his mental health.
I’m glad Trump is busy screwing his chances in all swing states. If we’re lucky, he’ll lose in enough of them that winning PA won’t save him.
Trump’s candidacy has been a surreal thing. On the one hand, I’m glad that he’s pushing for a massive GOP loss and fallout. On the other hand, even if he quit now, his big mouth has already done severe domestic and international damage. Even if the Democrats take the White House and both houses of Congress, I think we’re going to be cleaning up this buffoon’s mess for years to come. The only question is whether it will turn out to be a cleansing forest fire, or a nuclear fallout.
I read that article this morning and was troubled by it.
I know Trump has gone off-script many times, but I’ve always had the impression he was – well, I was going to say “coherent,” but he’s often not coherent. Maybe it’s that I thought he would usually complete a thought when he went off-script. This article makes it seem like he didn’t do that at all in this rally.
I’m holding to my theory that he’s sundowning, but it is of course possible that he’s lost his grip on reality. In either case, what’s troubling is that his followers can see this behavior and not view it as a real problem for POTUS. Or do they just convince himself that he won’t go off his rocker as president?
