Clinton v Trump - The Stretch Run Thread

Trump has promised that he can be the nastiest candidate.

Whew, that’s a relief. Americans definitely thought he was too kind. What everyone wants is to see who can be nastier. I have every confidence that Trump is correct here. He can, and will be the nastiest candidate in this or any other election.

Congratulations, Mr. Trump!

The more I think about this, the more concerned I am. I am curious what information he sends to these election observer volunteers - but not quite curious enough to sign up.

“Carry a cane, even if you don’t need. Intimidation!”

“Remember - no need t challenge whites - everyone else is fair game!”

In the same interview, Mr. Trump gives us a terrific insight into how his mind works. He simply denies that things happened. If he does not talk about it, or if he does not want to think about it… then IT NEVER HAPPENED. And he seems genuinely confused why anybody thinks differently.

In International Trump News, Newt Gingrich sits down with Peter Mansbridge of the CBC. In the interview, Newt gives a very STRONG endorsement of Trump:

Trump: “Not Abnormal”. At least not for an entrepreneur. High praise indeed.

Hillary Clinton: “Donald now says he’ll ‘have to see’ whether…”
Donald Trump: “Wrooong.”
The Moderator: “Mister Trump, you told the New York Times that…”
Donald Trump: “No, you’re wrong.”
The Moderator: “The record shows otherwise, but why…”
Donald Trump: “The record does not show that. The record shows that I’m right.”

He’s still got the religious right vote locked up:
Thou shalt not commit adultery. Unless, of course, you’re not the current President of the US, then no worries. I mean, boys will be boys, amiright?
Adultery isn’t so bad, so long is it doesn’t lead to dancing.

FTSOTROTW (For the sake of the rest of the world) please ensure Trump doesn’t get within spitting distance of the White House. We in TROTW fear the global consequences of such an event…we’ve already got one Kim Jong-un in the world, we really don’t need an American version.

Pretty please?

Wow, they really did get into your brain down there in Waco, didn’t they?

Molly Ivins called it “the Vatican of the Baptists”. I prefer “Athens on the Brazos”, myself.

Check it out, only about a hundred miles from you, right? An hours drive, Texas style. Wouldn’t even finish your six-pack.

Papoon for President!

You know he’s NOT INSANE!

That’s “Miss Jackson” if you’re nasty…

It worries me when I don’t understand a nasty remark.

Nasty.

As I mentioned in the now closed Trump thread, Julian Assange is running out of time.

I’m beginning to become skeptical of his candidacy destroying claims…

I think you’re giving it too much credit. If the Vatican cared about football, her comparison would be dead on.

Been through more times than I can count. It’s on the way to Austin, after all. I’ve never seen reason to stop. You can see Southern Baptists outside of that town, anyway. My own grandmother swore that Jesus turned the water into grape juice, for instance.
WRT to the thread subject: I’m pretty happy with how the stretch looks. Trump is running out of time to erase his intemperate behavior, and is appearing congenitally unable to stop behaving that way, anyway.

Times just posted…

The Times has obtained Donald Trump’s 1995 tax records. They suggest he could have paid no federal income tax for 18 years.

Donald J. Trump declared a $916 million loss on his 1995 income tax returns, a tax deduction so substantial it could have allowed him to legally avoid paying any federal income taxes for up to 18 years, records obtained by The New York Times show. The 1995 tax records, never before disclosed, reveal the extraordinary tax benefits that Mr. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, derived from the financial wreckage he left behind in the early 1990s through mismanagement of three Atlantic City casinos, his ill-fated foray into the airline business and his ill-timed purchase of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan.

NYTimes Paywall

I like the “could have” in the title. As if there’s a chance he paid any taxes.

And it appears that tonight at a rally, Trump is accusing Hillary of being unfaithful to Bill. I continue to be amazed at the depths he’s able to plumb.
