Clone Wars Finale, so why did Yoda?..

Have to learn to manifest his consciousness after death? Just so he could teach Obi-wan who could then tell Luke to go to Degobah? Kinda lame, couldn’t he have told him that before he died?

In the finale Yoda hears Liam Neeson in his head, like anyone would he finds this is disturbing. He is sent on an quest that resembles a viddy game which ends with him learning how to do it and telling everyone there is another way to beat the sith, for all time.

I’m guessing that refers to the events in ROTJ, but for the life of me I can’t remember why Yoda needed to be able to haunt people. Why not reach out to Obi-wan personally?

Please no mentions of this “reality” or “retcon” nonsense.:stuck_out_tongue:

I think this is one of those nebulous “spirituality” things that don’t bear close scrutiny. But their ability to live on after death and still, at the least, give advice, is at least a neat trick.

I haven’t seen the finale yet, so maybe I’m missing something, but the OP seems to be asking, “Why did Yoda want to become immortal?” Which sort of answers itself.

Yoda himself seemed kind of ambivalent to weary with the whole exercise, it was Qui-gon and the five priestesses who told him he HAD to for some reason. Which I assumed was related to Luke and the OT, but hell if anyone had a claim to that it is Obi.
