You have had a very limited experience with employer-run or employer-purchased health insurance.
Even up in the union-rich Rust Belt of the 1970s and 1980s, I only knew of one company that provided insurance that did not exclude for pre-existing conditions. And they were eager to enforce those rules, (E.g., trying to declare gestational diabetes (in a woman in her 20s who was not overweight) to be a “pre-existing” condition when her pregnancy began after she had been employed for a couple of years).
Wife was an insurance adjuster in the '70s. “It’s not a charity.” Were it not for the ACA, and hospital workers scrambling to get her on Medicare early, we could never have paid for the care needed to keep her alive this long.
“Your insurance from work won’t pay more than $400 a day for her. Don’t you have something else?”
“No.”
Have you ever had to say “No” so bluntly? This was my wife of 40 years. The love of my life. And I could do nothing but place her fucking life in the hands of strangers. Fuck you, Republicans. Fuck you with the razors you put in the edges of Trump signs.
There isn’t a day that goes by that I walk by an indigent or outcast and laugh at their fate - I caused that. You people deserve your situation. I don’t want a thing of mine to help your or them. What’s mine is mine.
Except those dastardly taxes that I pay. Unemployment. SSI. Property. Federal, state… I’m told all those help society and in particular the disadvantaged and not as well off as myself (another Ha!) steer clear of third world life.
Personally I think the food shelf I give to does more in a day than the government does in a year.
But you’re right. I want poor, indigent, minorities, women to suffer. I get off on it. Der Trihs is workshoping this. I’m aligned.
The Republicans were told to they’d never have a say in it. Get lost. Input not needed.
I’ll ask again though - you had the Presidency and both houses. You had every chance to pass whatever it is you wanted. And now are saying it’s all wrong and this and that should have been included, but never was.
And yet, there are people getting health insurance that is affordable.
Go get yourself a better plan. The companies offer a number of plans to choose from.
You need to realize that if your old plan didn’t meet the minimum requirements, it went away. Which meant you had a shitty plan to begin with.
Unless you live in a state run by a Republican Governor who refused to accept the exchanges. That’s your fault.
Now try again and this time show figures that demonstrate the whole system is a disaster for the whole country, not just your personal situation.
The Republicans refused to meet with Obama and then refused to meet with party leaders from the Democrats on multiple occasions during the writing of the ACA. On the one occasion when the Republican leadership was specifically invited to the White House, they showed up, then reused to engage in the discussion, silently traipsing out to tell the assembled news media that they had nothing to say to Obama.
After multiple attempts to get them to participate, the Democratic leadership moved on without them. The Republicans then spent the next seven years lying that they were excluded from the discussions.
Ironically, a significant portion of Obamacare included numerous provisions that the Republicans had been promoting for years. The Democrats were willing to include “Republican” talking points (E.g., the exchanges and basing it on private insurance companies), from the period before Obama’s election, but the Republicans then turned around and attacked many of those same points.
You have no understanding of how badly a poor healthcare plan can fuck you up.
But you seem to want to be self-reliant. Why not just dump your plan altogether?
Ah, the type of person who thinks comparing a guy to a woman is a good insult. Always nice when they make it easy to figure out what type of person they are.
No it isn’t. Revisit the days after Obama’s inauguration. Dems to Republicans - fuck off.
People were overjoyed.
Screw what tomndebb said, this is even more nuts. How about I’d like to pick and choose which plan I have? I’d like to have this but not that? I’d like to do this in the future and not that? I’d like choices beyond what’s allowed by my state and allowed by my government?
What the FUCK allows you and prescribes you to assert what I should or shouldn’t have?
You self righteous, self important know it all fuck…
Get over yourself. Get over thinking you know what’s best for everyone.
You seem really stressed, might want to have that checked out by a doctor. And the best part? It’s OK if you’ve always been a spittle-flecked ranting maniac, because your plan is required by law to cover preexisting conditions.
Sure gonna miss you after tomorrow; what, it’s midnight Pacific Time you’re off this job, right? Wherever will you take this laser-like insight of yours that somehow knows no other subject but the defense of Donald J Loser?
So, stupid question… Is the reason this isn’t considered trolling because you collectively think he’s too stupid to lie like this on purpose? Like, do we need to prove malicious intent?
