C'mon Tim !!!!!!!!

Oh God! Henman’s coming out to play now and they’re all there…Jesus.

And in the Insult to Injury Department we have a special offer today. Boris ‘look!-Germans-do-have-a-sense-of-humour’ Becker is commentating on the game. I hope it rains again…unless it means the unspeakable…Sir Cliff Richard !!

Where do I turn…i…t’s all going horribly wrong…

Breath L_C, breath. Come on, deep breaths. That’s it.

When I was in London last summer, I was there during Wimbledon. I remember when Henman lost. I had always wondered what it was like to be around when the collective hopes of a nation were dashed at once. Good times.

Good Gods! Not Big Bunny?!? (Episode 30, fourth season)

[sub]Wow! Haven’t thought about the Goodies in a decade. That was a pleasant jolt to make my afternoon a bit more bearable. :D[/sub]

Maria Sharapova?

Be careful though L_C, she’s only 15!

The longest you have to wait is two years

Holy Shit ! No, not the damn 15 year-old !! Actually I found who I meant now. It’s Daniela Hantuchova who, it seems, is Slovakian (as I mentioned) and aged a slightly more respectable 20. Also, “she was also voted the WTA’s sexiest player by a tennis magazine in April” according to her BBC profile. Stand by yer beds !!

Matron, my heart pills please.

Hmmm. Not bad, but she’s no Anna.

New balls, please.

Mmmm, Hantuchova.

This is the thing that gets me shouting at the television “JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LET THE MAN SERVE!!!” Maybe the reason he keeps choking is that his so-called “fans” keep breaking his concentration with their Pimms-induced cacophony.

As for the Last Night of the Proms air conductors, they’re not as bad as the people who feel compelled to clap (or stomp, or honk, or whistle) along with the Sea Songs but have less rhythm than your average epileptic undergoing a grand mal seizure. If you can’t clap in time, people, don’t clap at all. (Until the end, of course. Then you can go wild.)

I can’t find any pictures which show sideways staring nipples on Hantuchova. Darn!

Anyhoo, there’s just no idiot like a sports (or should I say sport?) idiot. There’s always hope you’ll get lucky though. A poorly hit backhand that goes flying into the stands. Eh? You never know.

Nice rant, but you made me want to cry for this poor pathetic, lonely man.:frowning:

He’s just lost, ** shimmery**: Imagine the artist playing on the booming Hi Fi next door is a rather better descriptive writer “… all the lonely people, where do they all come from…” that’ll cheer you up !

Regarding the 20 year-old Daniela Hantuchova – BTW, let me just say that a little louder in case you missed it: **20 **year-old. No one’s fessed up any images that reflect what I was looking at the other day. I suppose Ana Cum-in-me-vulva has a lot of professional photo shoots under her belt whereas Daniela tends, thus far, to concentrate on tennis. Crazy kid !

FWIW, first guy-impression is she’s just down to earth with maybe a little too much of the girl-next-door – bit like Kylie before Hutchence, 'cept much prettier and fitter…

Regarding the controversial matter of the sideways looking nipples. On further analysis of the data, it appears a lot of the female players now wear these tennis outfits with a very constrictive band across their chest. Not having slipped into one myself, I can’t say for sure, but it might well be that things get pushed around so as to be a little unnaturally couched. I’ll know more once the sport shop opens, assuming they still have my size.

jr8 – I’d forgotten all about the Sea Shanty knee benders and their motley brethren. Dreadful, dreadful people who give strobe lighting a bad name – except the Albert Hall crew do it without the strobes.

…and so it comes to pass… weather permitting, it’s Henman vs. Hewitt today in the first semi. I see it’s raining this morning. One assumes the people of my OP are currently queuing the length of Wimbledon Park Road and feeling a little bedraggled. Still ! Musn’t grumble, we’re all doing it for Tim !

  • I’m really liking, actually quite admiring, of Henman’s ability to deal with the pressure. Just wish he didn’t have to sacrifice so much power for accuracy on the second serve. And one or two other bits an’ pieces. Should be a tremendous match when it finally gets underway.
