Cocktails

I’m new to cocktails and I’m looking for some good recipes. As for alcohol I have: vodka, bourbon, tequila, contreau, baileys, midouri, butterscotch schnapps, and some coconutty-rum thing. And I have a cocktail shaker. What can be made with these ingredients, or perhaps 1 or 2 others I can get.

Whats your favourite cocktail?

Mix 2 jiggers each vodka, Midori and Coconutty-Rum thingy with 10 oz. pineapple juice. Pour over ice in a 24 oz. Mason jar. Garnish with a cherry and a pineapple wedge. This is known as a Toadsuck Pond, and is really quite good.

Bailey’s and Butterscotch Schnapps is surprisingly good. Mix about 1 shot Bailey’s with a half a shot of Butterscotch, shake with ice, and serve straight up. More of a winter drink though.

Vodka and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice is wonderful. Has to be fresh-squeezed though. The pre-squeezed stuff isn’t the same.

1 shot Tequila, 1 shot Cointreau, 1 shot fresh-squeezed lime juice, shaken over ice, served over ice = kickass Margarita. You can add some sugar and/or orange juice if it’s too tart for you.

Mine is the Old Fashioned and I love the articles and recipes for it here:

That site has other great articles and recipes also.

Beat me to it! Old Fashioneds and Martinis are the only cocktails I really ever bother with. I always liked the Old Fashioned, and more so when I learned that it was FDR’s drink of choice. I usually make mine with rye instead of bourbon. And, it’s important not to skimp on the bitters.
