This is not true. Peet’s coffee which is one of the best, if not the best, has a very high level of caffine. A small cup contains around 150mgs. A larger cup has a higher level of course. **

Unfortunately, this is a matter of opinion, when talking about taste. The simple truth remains that caffeine is a poison used by the coffee plant to defend itself from predators.

That’s what I get for leaving in the first sentance. I was in no way disagreeing with your coments on it being a poison. I was simply disagreeing with the comment on the level of caffine.

I thought I answered this, but looking back, I guess not. “Should” implies a moral or ethical imperative (“obligation or duty” per the dictionary). That does not apply to drinking coffee. I drink it, I see nothing wrong with it in moderation. My SO does not, I see nothing wrong with that.

So what you’re saying is that if coffee should be drunk, we all have a moral or ethical obligation to do so?

We have to admit that the word “should” has changed from the dictionary definition, at least in common speech.

Here is a good link to back up my other statement, that lower quality coffees have more caffeine:
