Coincidental hallucinations?

My wife’s Grandmother passed away three weeks ago from lymphomic cancer. Prior to her death, she had been taking large amounts of pain medication including morphine and oxycontin. She repeatedly stated that ‘others’ were in the room with her (angels, deceased relatives, and others whom she didn’t know). I, and other family members, attributed these ‘visits’ to the excessive amounts of medication. At the same time however, we wondered if just maybe, it was something more.

About two weeks prior to her death, she started complaining about a little boy that would come into her room to steal her candy, though there were no children in the home. Again, this too would seem like just another hallucination, except for the fact that twenty years ago, while my Uncle was dying from lung cancer, (and also taking morphine) he too would yell out at a little boy that would sneak into his room to steal his candy!

Is it possible for a drug to induce such a specific and unusual hallucination in two seperate, non-related individuals, or is there something supernatural to this?

You don’t say whether the Uncle was a blood relative of the Grandmother. If so, perhaps they both have memories of the same boy stealing candy from back when your Uncle was a boy and visited granny.

Tourbot: He says his wifes grandmother, and his uncle. If they are related, that would be scary.

It’s scary anyway.

Little boys stealing candy may be an archetype of some sort or another…Kind of like how everyone dreams about flying and showing up to class naked (although hopefully not at the same time).

Pretty freaky, though.

I am sure it’s possible. I’m mentally sound as it gets, but saw my first ghost last weekend. It really spooked me, so to speak.
