Its 80 today, 80 all week!
Yah. I love warm weather; I would prefer 80 all year round (yes, wrongly living in Ohio).
Would you prefer cool or warm weather all year round?
Are you a coldie or a hottie?
Taken the other way, I am most definitely a hottie. As far as the weather, I’d have to say the same. I love hot weather, and hate the cold (yet, I live in Indiana. Go figure). I feel WAY more at home someplace like Tampa, where it’s usually a LOT warmer. Plus, I think I’m water-oriented.
If you want to know the temperature in paradise, just look up the weather in San Francisco.
In my opinion, it doesn’t get any better than this…
Hottie. Oh yeah.
There was some sort of horrible accident at my birth which resulted in me being switched with someone. I was CLEARLY meant to live in the baking hot South Pacific. Without a doubt. Surely on a beach. Fish, fruit, sand, sea and sunshine.
It is never too hot for me. And I hate air conditioning, (it’s just a noise to distract you from the heat). I’d rather have a fan any day.
I am a slight person, living in the frozen north. I suffer through the winters, contantly chilled. And dream about the tropical seaside, the swaying palms, the gentle sea breeze, the setting sun, the rising moon.
But none of that today the sun is shining where I am and I will save that daydream for the winter.
I’d prefer it to be in the upper 60s or lower 70s. If I had to choose hot or cold, though, I’d probably choose hot. Cold, snowy weather just sucks.
Cold weather.
Born in north western Minnesota, graduated from HS in north eastern MN, college in western MN and currently living (since December) about a half-hour south of the Twin Cities.
My wife and I were just fretting the other day about how hot it will get ‘down here’ since neither of us have ever lived this ‘far south’ before. And we were serious… 8^)
My idea of a perfect evening activity is to spend the night ice skating at an outdoor rink while it snows. The great thing about this is that you can accomplish this easily a half-dozen times a year if you want.
On my mother’s side, she has a brother in California and a sister who just moved to Florida and we all think they’re nuts.
Sheah, if you don’t mind the fog, the perpetual sardine-can feeling, and paying $2500+ a month for a one-bedroom apartment. Everyone knows San Francisco is just a pale imitation of Los Angeles for folks who can’t handle the vibrancy of the real McCoy.
As for the OP, I enjoy it in the 70s and 80s – but when it pushes into the 90s, then I get peeved.
Actually, I’m neither. Sometimes I think I don’t have a thermostat; I get cold when it’s cold and hot when it’s hot. In general though, I guess cold wheater is better because I can always put on more clothes.
Checking in from lovely Tucson, Arizona.
Take a guess.
Though I am somewhat bummed… I’ve been here for seven years now, and I’ve slept through both times it’s snowed. It’d be nice to recall what that stuff looks like, so I can remember how much I despised it…

Just like a bitch from Southern California. Surpised you have time to post on this board. Don’t you have some plastic surgery scheduled for this afternoon? Or is that tomorrow? I guess today you are just being the plastic, shallow, backstabbinng whiner that all of you punks down there are. rent is expensive up here because it worth more to live up here than down in the flat, boring desert you call home.
Go have a latte, get your nails done, go to a tanning salon, and when you’re done go F%$k yourself.
I’m a warm weather, make that hot weather, girl.
And everyone thinks I’m a freak. They ask me “wouldn’t you like to live in San Francisco where the weather is perfect?” No…San Francisco is freaking cold! And God forbid that I ever live where it snows!
You see, I hate clothes in general. I hate outerwear most of all. I hate having to bundle up in jackets, hats and scarves. I hate haveing to wear nylons when I put on dresses. I long for the sun’s caress on my bare leg. I adore the soft play of a summer breeze on my shoulders.
My idea of heaven is spending all day in a tiny sundress, loungeing on a hammock in the shade, reading a book and drinking lemonade.
I am never too hot, not even when it hits one hundred. I am often, however, too cold. My finger nails turn blue, my teeth chatter and my ears sting when it gets to sixty.
I’m glad I am not the only hot weather person out there. Everyone I know says things like “I love it when it rains for two weeks straight” and “If you can’t see your breathe it’s too hot”. I was beginning to think I was the only one.
I’m a hottie. I absolutely DETEST being cold.
I’m neither, really. I don’t like extremes of either sort. Give me a nice 78 degrees with a light ocean breeze and I’m happy. It could be that I got spoiled living in Venice (CA) most of my life.
I spent a year in Michigan and hated the winter, way too cold for me. Now I live in Phoenix (yes, I know, for a woman who doesn’t like extremes…) and while the summers (115 degree weather for days on end) are a bit much, it’s bearable, I just don’t go outside much.
I guess I better check in to balance things out a bit - I’m a born coldie. My mom says she could never get a jacket on me when I was a kid (in Northern Saskatchewan, if you please). When it gets over 25 C, I can barely function. I sort of limp from shade to shade then. I love living in Canada, because I feel like I was born for this country with my cold-loving abilities (yes, that’s me - Super Cold Girl! )
Gimme Snow!
My favorite winter memory is the year it snowed three feet where i grew up.
Then we were blessed with some freezing rain which made a delightful crust, making it possible for little girls to walk several feet across the top of the snow before breaking through, giggling, and starting again.
For a few years now I have lived in a part of Oregon where the weather snidely declines to snow, in favor of the LOOOOOONG WINTER RAINS.
If any of youse guys have snow right now, send me some? Just make a few snowballs and whip 'em West.
Thanks!

Jesus, heembo and rjung. What the hell was that all about?
As for me, I prefer something in between cold and hot. I’m most comfortable in temperatures in the 50s-60s. About the only time I like it to be warm is when I go to the beach or do something outdoorsy.
Yeah, I was wondering that myself. I thought we were supposed to fight nice in IMHO…
I am without a doubt a cold weather person. Which sucks since my SO is a very warm weather person. To me it’s starting to get like jacket weather when it’s about 30-35 F outside. I didn’t wear a coat this winter even when it hit below 0. Cold weather is just so much better. I don’t know why but I feel so much more at ease. Who knows?
Another coldie checking in.
Love it in the 50s.
Love it in the 60s.
Seventy-five is about my comfort limit, and it’s gotta be a breezy 75.
Love it when it’s 50 degrees at night so I can sleep with the windows open. Ahh, nothing better than cool night air! There are actually some people who turn the heat on when it’s 50 degrees outside…what a bunch of weirdos!
Hate the heat, hate the freaking humidity. The sun is evil.
I hate the beach.
I live in Maryland, the Mid-Atlantic area, home of long stretches of steamy summer days in the upper 90s, with 98% humidity. You sweat in the shade at 7:00 in the morning. Your car is like a furnace if it sits in the sun for 20 minutes.
When the weathermen do their famous “We’re going to have the 3 H’s today, Hazy, Hot and Humid” bit, I know to stay inside with the nice AC cranked up.
Get me out of here!
My mother (a hottie) is convinced I was switched at birth with some Eskimo baby. Or maybe a polar bear.
I’m a coldie. My perfect weather is 60 degrees, sunny, with a nice breeze. But I love winter, too - I look so cute with rosy cheeks and a pretty scarf around my neck! And I prefer wearing as much clothing as possible.
Tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 80’s here - yuck yuck yuck! I detest sweating!
I remember Boston, summer '99 - it was so perfect. Warm enough for skirts (because, as a coldie, I absolutely refuse to wear shorts), cool enough for a jacket at night.
Plus, the more clothes you have on, the less you have to worry about shaving and being pasty white. And nothing - nothing! - is better than crawling into bed at night, under tons of blankets and quilts, all warm and cozy, with a fire in the hearth.
