Your alleged friend is missing part of the point that Left Hand of Dorkness pointed out. The standard form of a debate is to make an assertion, then support it by citing sources and facts. Andy flat out refused to do so, and when pressed, resorted to attacks, changes of subject, and outright lies. Until he backed up his argument, there was nothing to respond to, really.
The thing that just fascinates me about these feminist haters is just how out there they are. **Shodan, catsix, ** and Andy all seem to think that hairy-legged man-hating feminists secretly dominate the country, plotting how best to, in Andy’s own words, bring about their ‘Final Solution’ for men—their ‘pogrom.’ And of course, that’s not true, but what’s weird is they’re utterly possessed by the belief that it’s true. They throw about wild accusations of victim-whining, and misogyny-flinging, which is interesting because it’s so revealing-----they expect women to tolerate their abusive and offensive behavior as a matter of course.
The only thing that reminds me of this degree of fervor and paranoia are those weird people who hate, hate, hate either Clinton or Bush. On the one hand, the Clinton weirdos think he’s some kind of roving murderer/despoiler who ravages maidens and kills off people who could be his rival if somehow a whole shitload of people between them and him died. I’ve heard some conservative radio talk show host reading off a list on the air of people Clinton either killed or had killed. All for a few blowjobs and a land deal that netted a couple hundred grand. On the other hand, the anti-Bush people posit some Machiavellian conspiracy where a wooden-headed puppet responds to pulled-strings and plots some sort of New World Order.
The feminist haters hate just as feverishly, but they’re not hating a couple of individual world leaders: they’re bashing a whole group of people. It’s actually a really passive position; they’re always yapping in response to feminism, reacting to it, and responding to it, instead of forging their own passions. I can’t think of any other social movement which has inspired this degree of long-lasting, unmoveable hatred, based on so little. And when you get right down to it, college feminists aside, it’s still a really simple movement: equality for women, in a world that didn’t even consider the pretense until quite recently—say, the last fifty years or so. And here’s Andy and his little squad, claiming that feminists claim victimhood, whine misogyny, and at least according to Andy’s own words, running ‘pogroms’ and desiring ‘Final Solutions.’ Funny how none of his little cheerleaders want to tackle either of those phrases.

Sinc margin continues to bring up that board, I’m going to note four things.
1.) I do not want any inter board warring, nor anyone from here going there to start anything.
2.) I do not want anyone attempting to start an inter-board war by inviting Ms. posters here to argue this issue.
3.) While I was there, I was accused of lying about my gender because, among other things I have an interest in BDSM, I have been raped and yet do not feel like a victim, and my particular philosphy does not agree with the insistance that there is currently an entrenched patriarchy in Western society. When I was called names, I did not repsond in kind, and I posted my honest opinions backed up with facts regarding my belief in equal treatment under the law. I did not violate the TOS, because I was not abusive and because I met the requirement that a person wishing to post there have an interest in feminism.'
4.) If it is true that there are different brands of feminism, and that one of those brands is nothing more than the belief that men and women are equals and should be treated as such, there is no possible way I could have ‘lied’ by clicking any button.

I can always point to good old reliable victimist margin as an example of an ignorant hothead. For that reason, I’m glad margin is around.
That would be Valerie Solanas, the only true candidate for the “final solution” feminist you’re likely to find. She wrote a little diatribe called the SCUM Manifesto circa 1971, which really did advocate for eliminating the male sex.
(There was no “society”, it was just her, although the document is a bit of a cult favorite. She herself went into meltdown mode and shot an artist, Andy Warhol. Died a few years ago in relative obscurity. The Manifesto is long out of print.)
