If Colonel Gadaffi is military dictator of Libya, and leader of the armed forces, how come he’s only a Colonel?
Because the Lybian army consists of only one division. No seriously, I think it’s a pathetic attempt at false humility/ legitimicay; the idea is that he’s just a Colonel who happens to be running the government; it’s not like he’s taken over by force or anything, and he still respects the chain of command, right?

I didn’t know that about Khadaffi’s, Sofa King - are you sure about that - but the reason many of those dictator types are former colonels is because they they are the ones who are passed over once too many for General; they finally snap ant try too take over the country.
