Color me bland!

Well, there are ways around that cream dilemma.
She’ll figure something out. She’s very good.
Although, I’m sure I heard silent cursing in her head when I said chowder.

And, no I won’t miss out. I don’t know what the full cream anything tastes like. Never had it.

Cottage cheese (low-fat version)

That’s tricky. Bland usually implies carbs, which you don’t want to increase. Can you get any more info on what specifically you need to avoid, or which of spices, acidic foods, too much fat, too much fibre (or anything else) triggers your stomach issues? If it’s not fat then it’s fairly easy to give suggestions, but if you need to avoid fat and also carbs, you’re kind of stuck, because you need to get enough calories somehow and protein is also hard on the digestion.

I think I’m gonna say general spiciness is the culprit.

Of course I have to have proteins and as much calories as I can get. I’m fairly underweight. I can tolerate fats. Not alot.
I eat a bunch of fruits and vegatables everday, trying to increase my caloric intake.

It’s hard when my choices are so limited.
I’m fighting the monster everyday.

Congee - essentially rice boiled until it turns into runny sludge - but with enough chicken or vegetable stock to shift it from the wallpaper paste end of the spectrum. You can throw any tolerable, not too exciting vegetables or meat bits into it that take your fancy.

Egg drop soup with shredded or cubed chicken added for extra protein? That would be a low carb version of chicken noodle soup, and easy to make.

If you’re determined to make chowder, and can’t use cream, Mocha Mix, (if you can find it), works well. It doesn’t ‘break’ when heated.

I had plain cheese ravioli for lunch. No sauce. Just a bit of butter.

The kids ask for it too. Turned out pretty dang tasty.

Surely the traditional (for centuries) bland diet, but also sufficient for survival for a while is:
bread and water.

Just don’t say bone broth or beef tea . Please.

The tummy trouble classics: toast or saltines.

Milk toast! So bland it’s the namesake for a personality type.

Or go farther and do a savory bread pudding?

Calories from the bread, cheese, eggs and milk. The fat and protein should help offset Beck’s glucose spike, and the only spices/seasonings are salt, pepper, and whatever fresh herbs she can tolerate (or even leave out if it’s too much of a risk).
