color profile training

My office may be participating in such a training, I think its optional for me. I don’t know what it is, but it might be a personality profile system like DiSC (whatever that is),

Does anyone know what this is? and more importantly, how can I screw with the training and my results?

What Wikipedia says…

Upon further review, I smell a whole lotta Bravo Sierra in your future. DiSC appears to be a Meyers-Briggs/Kiersy Temperament retread, per a different Wikipedia article I’ll leave to you.

I sense that too, I just would like to know something about what it is before I walk into the room (If i do so). ANd perhaps try to some inappropriate passive agressive protesting should I be inclined

I was a participant in, and ultimately a giver of, the DiSC personality profile system back in the 80s (not as a marketer/consultant, but as an end-user). The majority of people who took the profile and had the results adequately explained to them found it useful, but YMMV. I think it has value, when used as intended, but it is probably no different than many other similar tools.

If you want to skew your results, it will probably be fairly obvious how to do so from the questions/answer choices, but if you want specific tips, let me know.

I’m an S/C.

Oh, heavens. I’m flashing back to a bad “Now, Discover Your Strengths” experience. It was right around then that I decided I needed to find another job. Anyway, here’s a long piece about various “4-quadrant” personality tests (which… if there weren’t 4 of them, they wouldn’t be quadrants, would they?). DISC is fourth on the list. This guy tries to make a case for the usefulness of such tests, but cautions:

Which is, of course, exactly what they’re usually used for. For example, this pdf tells fitness club owners exactly which “colors” will be best in which jobs:

So, yeah. Have fun with that, and my condolences.

Yeah, it’s some kind of Meyers-Briggs wannabe. I went through a seminar at some point, but my passive-aggressive eye-rolling score-skewing attitude ensured that I remember absolutely nothing of the experience.

May you be as lucky.

Might as well hire and assign people based on their horoscopes or cookie fortunes.

Such typical “Green” people responses.
