Mods, unless town powers, scum and the SK agree to shorten a night OR a player gets 50%+2 votes more than 24 hours before the scheduled day end, will Day always finish at 8pm CST?
Apart from MHaye, amrussell and myself, I don’t know if anyone else is in Europe. 8pm CST is 2am GMT (I think) or 3am for me in Spain. While last minute role claims are to be taken with a pinch of salt, I’d hate not to be around to unvote/vote after a fact-supported or verifiable role claim.
I’d imagine it’s in scum’s best interests to leave the Day end time as it is as this reduces the number of players who can avoid a mislynch and I’ve no idea how soon we’ll have overwhelming support for a lynch…
In Screamers we lynched a Doc because so few players were around when he made his full role-claim so, if possible, I’d like to suggest Day 2 starts a little earlier or later so Day can end at a more suitable time.
On a separate note, I’m still looking for a place for my vote… Possibly Pedescribe (for a general smear on the people who’ve commented on Peeker’s post style being a null-tell) but I hope to have a stronger basis for a vote.
8 PM is a convenient time for me to end a Day.
Here’s my situation. I am a special education teacher in a middle school (7th grade or 12-13 year old children). While, I do tend to get a chance to check the game during the day from work, at times it gets blocked. My schools district uses a site-based filter to block many inappropriate sites such as nrop and koobecaf. We also use a content based filter which scans a page for content. From time to time, the filter has blocked this and other mafia sites telling me that they may be cihpargonrop.
The underlined words are spelled backwards to avoid having my own post trip the content filter at work.
I know end times in most games are a problem for some players since we live on different sides of the ocean. I played in a game on FB once which had a few people in Europe, at least one from Australia, and a Jamaican who lived in Vietnam.
If anyone has a better solution, I’m all ears, but I’m afraid I just won’t be able to please everyone
I never said it was one of my first games. I’ve played about four or five games in the past. So more than some, fewer than others. I don’t always play this way, no, but I haven’t ever played with peeker for example, and I’ve never really been called out for, IMHO, stuff that’s fairly innocuous. Plus, coupled with a lot of off board crap I"ve been dealing with–that’s basically why I was acting as I did.
I guess I can’t catch a break on getting in to a game, anywhere.

Seriously, I have had a lot of stuff go on in my life, probably best that I am not in a game currently. – But I Would like to get into the next game possible, either here, or at Idle.

Also, I was not pinning the bickering and bantering on you, but the opposite. You’ve been participating but not risking anything. Town takes risks when they voice opinions and you are not taking any risks. That is what is most suspicious to me.
Like I implied before, perfect day 1 scum play. Nothing risked, your super early vote hasn’t even been remarked on by anyone. You come out the other side of today smelling like roses.
How exactly do they get us nowhere? Those little spats are getting both of those players votes, and encouraging more discussion. That’s not quite nowhere.
Your nick has taken on a whole different and admirable meaning now!
No-one else seems concerned so I’ll just suggest that players keep this in mind towards Day end.

For the comment re: Tom’s role, the comment re: scum have no extra info from kills, the comment re “scum buddies”, the reasoning behind the 2 votes, and because this is Day 1 and the other cases seem somewhat less consistent…

Diver’s posted a few times. Ichini, I think just the signup and confirm; MHaye has only a couple posts including his confirm (which included some general advice) and a fairly substantial early post about vig’s and the difference between players offering advice and giving orders to the power roles, but nothing since people started picking up votes.
I know about that feature–I just meant like who are we considering to not have posted at all because they’ve just signed in or something.
I think we should put pressure on the guys who have been silent because so far it’s been way too easy for them to get by. Pretty much everyone has gotten some heat so far just. If not talking lets you swing by with no votes or scrutiny, then that’s really unfair. Let’s start fingering them (WITH SUSPICION, you pervs) to get them out of the woodwork.
So I’m thinking, who do we have who’s gone dead silent after drawing a bit of early heat for maybe making the game seem more complicated than it is? I know he’s posted a “sorry guys I’m busy, will post later” post; but I thought peeker’s initial query of Mahaloth was solid - the guy’s modded a couple games, he ought to know what a “colorless” roleblocker can or can’t do - and his complete silence since his reply to peeker’s vote worries me.
Maha did mention being busy off board, but he pretty much did withdraw after that little debacle. I think if someone is put on the spot and they just stop posting, it’s unfair. It’s like, “I’m in the hot spot, so maybe if I go silent they’ll stop focusing on me and go for the next damn fool who shoots off his head.” I don’t think Maha necessarily did that on purpose but it’s basically what happened.
Similar effects with everyone else who just hasn’t posted. They’ve escaped scrutiny all together.
At a glance, Ichini, MHaye, and Nanook haven’t really commented on any of the player vs. player stuff yet, just a bit of strategy talk in MHaye and Nanook’s cases. It would be good if the people who haven’t yet voted could get a vote down some time tonight.
I see no need to remove Skeez from the scrutiny list. While I am intimately acquainted with the fact that his vote is misplaced, I certainly hope there are others of you who find it as baseless and dubious as I do.
I’m tryuing to do a second read this evening, after having been dragged out HARPing last night unexpectedly. However, by PC has just balked at writing a post, so I’m going to be a bit dot-and-carry for a while. I’ll probably have to compose them in OpenOffice and hope I can actually post them when I finish writing them.
I’ll vote Today. I don’t know when, yet.
