Columbine and the Movie "Billy Madison"

I was watching “Billy Madison” last night on I think USA network and they came to the part where Billy calls the psycho dude to apologize for picking on him in school. Well the psycho says no hard feelings(or something like that)and hangs up. Then he crosses Billy Madison’s name off his list on the wall with no title.

Well in the uncut version the title at the top of the list said “People to Kill”.

Do you think this was edited because of the Columbine and other school tragedies?

And if it was, do you think the studios were forced to edit it or were they just scared of possible litigation?

What sort of litigation? Studios don’t normally edit. USA edits so that their sponsors don’t pull out.

Glad I called THAT guy.

Dude, you were watching it on USA. What do you expect. They’re the channel that shows all the one star movies whose only redeeming qualities involve displaying bare-breasted women. But then USA takes the boobies out. Never made much sense to me.

I’d bet that if you saw the movie on HBO it wouldn’t be edited in the way you describe.

I think it might have been edited because it’s a really creepy, and perfectly plausible given the recent spat of shootings in general, not just ones at schools…

I guess i’ve only seen the unedited version with the title on the list. I just thought it was spooky. Wouldn’t the ending of the “Academic decathlon” seem a little random, plot wise, without knowing what the list was?

Wouldn’t have been better to leave the title on the list to give a warning to bullies not to bully other kids because they might just get you later.

I don’t know just another thought.

If they haven’t gotten it by now, after real life events, what the fuck makes you think that they would get it if they saw it in a movie on the USA network?
