Drain Bead and I exchanged a couple e-mails today about this Dope Fest. Now I’m reposting in an effort to get some solid positive responses. Since I detect a bit of apathy, please let us know before the end of next week if you wanna do this. Or we’re just gonna kill the whole thing.

Put me down as “maybe”. I live in Delaware, which is 20 miles from Columbus. But I’m 15 and my rents aren’t too keen on me going out and partying with people I just met online. Or at least driving with them. So, depending on location, I might be able to attend.
When is it?
Alas, I cannot attend Columbus. However, I think Milossarian is a psychic. I was thinking about having a barbecue or something this summer. I know there are two other Dopers besides myself who live in Flint (xploder & Medea’s Child), and I thought it might be kinda cool to do something. Of course, any Dopers who wish to attend are invited. I’ve got to do it before Medea’s Child goes back to school, though.
When is Columbus, again? If I do something here, I want to be sure that I don’t plan it for the same weekend.
And since I do haved a computer here at my house, we can have a minute by minute thread of the bash here…

I was down as a maybe for Columbus, but I’m going to have to switch that to a definite no. I’m on Internal Medicine in August, and my odds of having two days off in a row (on a weekend, no less) are slim to none.
Oh, and Drainy, I’m sorry I didn’t get up with you when I was in Columbus this past weekend for the Phish shows. It was a crazy couple of days–getting to the venue was an all-day ordeal. (Let me just say that I really, really hate Polaris Amphitheatre.)

I live in C-bus but will be out of town (and country!) the first 3 weeks of August.
Maybe we ought to start doing Dopefest threads in IMHO, where they would stay on the first page longer. Here in MPSIMS, if you’re not posting at the right time of day, a thread can go to the top, then disappear again, before you have a chance to see it.
