Columbus or bust

Jesus Christ, I don’t look for a couple days and now we are meeting at 6pm lane avenue!

Alrighty then, I will attempt to get a sitter and be there with Drain Bead at 6pm. My hubby has recently signed up, but is still lurking, sorry boys but he will have to come. He’s good though, Masters in English and literature and all that stuff. He is looking forward to it all too.
So let’s get it on!

PS, Drain Bead you will have to contact me before all this, get my number from Steve if I don’t see you.

I have the posts that got lost yesterday. Here they are.

Sure, bring your spouse. Make her wear the funny hat.

Sure, bring anyone you want. And the day before we meet, I’ll post what I’ll be wearing, and y’all can just come to me.

Okay…something weird is going on. Phil’s post, which UncleBeer and I have both replied to, is now gone. And I’ve been having some trouble with the “Next Newest Topic” button taking me to the same old threads over and over again, and the first time I posted this session, my cookie wasn’t recognized, and I had to enter my username and password in by hand. Strange.

I have no problem with spouses; the more the merrier in the book of Beer. Maybe you can get her to the funny hat.
I swear I posted this once. Anybody else notice anything strange a few minutes ago? Like incorrect times and missing topics?

You posted it once, UncleBeer. I still see it…thing is, I don’t see Phil’s post anymore! I’ve been having the same problems, though, mentioned in more detail above…unless that disappears too. I wonder if they’re tinkering with the software again?

Shouldn’t be a problem, hon. Remember, we’ll be going out to dinner the night before, and if need be, we can work out the details then.

Phil:

Everyone print off their favorite Slug Signorino illustration and pin it to their hat or shirt.

(Won’t be many other folks wearing those.)

Do you really think it will be hard to recognize each other? I refuse to wear a hat! We should all wear black. Or maybe all order one certain drink at the bar…something colorful? Mmmmm…bar…beer.

TO THE TOP I SAY!!!

So…we have me, TheDoll and husband, pldennison and wife, UncleBeer, Tom (and possibly Debb?)…anyone else?

Sorry, I’ll have exhausted my Columbus travel allotment this weekend.
Maybe on some future date.

Tom~

Me and Mrs C#3 (and the teenagers) are going to the Columbus-area city of Delaware this weekend for a weenie roast/kegger at my sister’s house. I was also in Columbus a few weeks ago for a high school football game.

We won’t be able to make the get together though because Mrs C#3 will be started on chemotherapy by then and I expect that we’ll be staying pretty close to home for the next 6 months or so…

Have fun, drink one for us, and take my name in vain a few times! Show those New Yorkers how it’s done!

Contestant #3

Last Call!

Me too! Me too! Well, I plan to attend. It’s not a home game weekend, so it should be safe for me to go outside.

::Comes flying in from deep left field::

Does anyone posting to this thread happen to be a fan of the Columbus Crew?

“Stop the rope and let me in or I’ll go out and get some gin”

The who? I seem to have vaguely heard something about Columbus having a soccer team…it was somewhere in between the coverage of high school football and that last little snippet of the weather on the 11:00 news one night.

I can honestly say, if there was one Ohioan I wanted to meet in person, it was C#3, just to see what he’s like IRL! Well, maybe next time, and best wishes to your wife with her chemotherapy.

I’m with you on really wanting to meet C#3. PLD. We could have easily topped those arrogant NYC’ers if we had C#3 in attendance.

I will also take this opportunity to echo your sentiments regarding his wife’s treatments. Good luck and best wishes to your wife and family C#3.

Otis, my man, (to paraphrase “Animal House”) what is the Columbus Crew? And I see from your profile you are from Columbus. Any plans to attend our little soiree?

UncleBeer,

(Assuming you were serious about your Crew question and not just yankin’ the old chain). The Crew play professional soccer in relative obscurity and a brand new stadium.

Yup, I’ll be at the shindig. I’m already on the guest list as “+1”.

“Stop the rope and let me in or I’ll go out and get some gin”

Me, yank someone’s chain? Never. Yeah, right. Seriously, I honestly had no idea what the Columbus Crew was.

Anyway glad to have ya aboard.

GO CREW!!

Uncle Beer, count me in on the Columbus trip.

The statutes of limitations regarding all the bars I was removed from have surely expired by now.

I didn’t have a beard then…they will never recognize me.
