I’ve played in a game with each of you (danalan, moguai, and anyrose) so far. I hope that doesn’t cause a feeling of dread in anyone. 
If you have any suggestions or criticisms, I’d be interested to hear them.
In regards to Rule #2. I’m not 100% sure but I read a comment that they were trying to decide if it was okay by the rules to announce an alliance but negotiate the terms in secret. From the way I read the currently posted rule #2, you can’t keep the terms of the alliance secret.

I noticed that too. I’m pretty sure the one I joined was gone before the downtime, maybe there’s a time limit on games waiting for players?

I researched online risk a bit. Is this application better than Lux?

I think it’s better than Lux because a) you don’t need to download any software,
b) you can play on any computer (Mac or Win)
c) just because

OK, I’m back in the Cairns Coral and CCU games. I’m in our ongoing game, and my public game got snapped up before any Dopers got to it, I think. That’s four. I’m good.

I joined the Cairns and Classic games.
I wouldn’t mind trying the CCU map but I’ve never played a freestyle game before.
Freestyle’s no biggie. It just means that, each round, players can take turns in any order. Makes for faster play, I think. If you were last (or next to last?) you can’t be one of the first two to move in the next round. That’s about it.
