The movie Cabin Boy was boring as hell throughout, except just one once when Chris Elliott comes out from just having had sex and proclaims, “These pipes…ARE CLEAN!”

(It was essentially the same setup/gag as “I found my special purpose!” from The Jerk, though.)
Oh, my gosh…I have never heard of this movie, but now I have to see it! That sounds hilarious. My question, though…how did they FILM it?
Indeed, 'cause that’s not what I said.
I didn’t much care for Borat. It seemed like he was getting laughs out of making nice, polite people uncomfortable, for the most part, which puts me off.
But god damn, the naked wrestling match and chase was so funny I almost fell of the couch, literally. I’ll definitely Tivo it when it comes on DirecTV, and just watch that part again. Oh, and also his new wife feeding the whole town with her breastmilk, because I missed that the first time, but as a lactivist I find it hilarious.
My scene from Dracula: Dead and Loving It, which is truly dreadful overall, is the scene where they stake Lucy. Steven Weber as Harker follows Van Helsing’s (Mel Brooks) advice on how to set it all up, then Van Helsing quickly steps behind a column and tells him to proceed. Cue ridiculous, preposterous amounts of blood gushing up all over Weber. Then Van Helsing peeks out and says, “Excellent - you’ve almost finished,” or something, and it plays out again. Totally juvenile, but it makes me laugh.
(BTW, I like a lot of the films people are listing here - *Caddyshack *is a classic, 40 Year Old Virgin is a riot, My Blue Heaven is a quirky favorite - “it’s the shoes, right?” I even like Happy Gilmore, when I’m in the mood for something dumb.)
They turn off the lights before they strip off, so the screen is all black except for the glowing dicks bouncing around. They don’t really look like dicks, just brightly colored, elongated blobs at roughly crotch level.
It’s not?
My husband and I went to see “Kung Pow: Enter the Fist” in the cheap theatres, and I think we were the only ones laughing in there. We were laughing so hard we couldn’t breathe - it was almost embarrassing to be the only people laughing that hard, but hey, WE were having fun.
“Dumb and Dumber” was a comedy like the OP is talking about for me; there is the one scene when they’re riding on the moped, I think it was, through the mountains in the cold, and the two guys get stuck together with frozen pee - heh.
I thought the movie was dull as hell (as I mentioned in the over-hyped movies thread) but I’ll admit that I laughed at the bear & the ice cream truck with the kids. It was a cheap laugh but a laugh none the less
You said Caddyshack was “horrible,” and that you “loved” Funny Farm. Or am I misreading you?
Miller, I was actually picturing two actors running around in the dark, each with a condom-covered dildo on as stick!
Glad I’m not the only one!
Got nothin’ to add to this thread, really (My ex and I laughed through most of “Tremors” - which annoyed all the teens in the theatre who were taking it seriously) -
but I had to pop in to thank Unauthorized Cinnamon for the term lactivist which she used in her post. I’m one too, just didn’t think of such a great name for it. And that’s why we love the dope.
I think what makes that scene funny to me is that it truly looks like the *actors *are laughing at Steve Carrell. Cracks me up.
Napoleon Dynamite. That movie was almost complete shit. I stopped it after twenty minutes because I hated it so much. Luckily, a friend of mine made me watch the dance scene at the end, which was quite funny.
Speaking of Steve Carrell, he absolutely ran away with the otherwise unremarkable Bruce Almighty in the scene where, as a news anchor, Jim Carrey is forcing him to read nonsense from the teleprompter.
His “anchor” demeanor, the lines, his delivery, t’s all great, but what gets me every time is the absolutely authentic panic in his eyes as he realizes he is making a fool of himself but is unable to stop.
You two need to rent the DVD just for the outtakes of that scene. It was live, and they had extra cameras recording the reactions of the crew, which could generally be described as ROTFLMFAO.
I’m just going to swoop in and win the award for most obscure reference.
Drop Dead Fred, which came out in 91’ had a ridiculous premise: a girl’s childhood imaginary friend returns when she’s in her 30’s. Nonhilarity ensues.
For some reason when I first saw it though, there was this one dinner scene where fred (the imaginary friend whom only she could see), was making her do all sorts of goofy things while on a date with this guy. Stupid things like throwing forks, and jerking her arms. Sounds pretty silly, but when I first saw this it was the funniest thing I had ever seen.
I caught the movie again years later. It doesn’t really improve on repeat viewing.
No, no, the funny part in Dracula: Dead and Loving It is when Renfield is eating the bugs.
Didn’t they make a Star Wars joke too?
Apparently, my husband has seen this, and he remembered the whole thing as being a take-off on light sabers.
