Comedy Central announces South Park Pandemic Special on Sept. 30

“Randy comes to terms with his role in the COVID-19 outbreak as the on-going pandemic presents continued challenges to the citizens of South Park. The kids happily head back to school but nothing resembles the normal that they once knew; not their teachers, not their homeroom, not even Eric Cartman.”

Giving this my one bump. It’s on tonight on Comedy Central at 10:00 Eastern Time. I can’t wait to see Matt and Trey’s take on the pandemic.

I haven’t watched South Park in a long time, but I think I’ll record this one.

It’s classic South Park. Sick, twisted, a bit uneven and brilliant in spots. Also the return of Mickey Mouse, Supreme Emperor of Disney.

And sorry for getting the time wrong, but Comedy Central is airing it several times in a row.

I Tivo’ed it, even though I rarely watch “South Park.”

In the fall of 2014, they had an episode called “Gluten Free Ebola.” Unfortunately, the episode didn’t live up to the title.

Making this season’s episodes is going to be a challenge. The production crew worked remotely in the making of this one.

In the end, I know why I stopped watching South Park. It just doesn’t do much for me anymore. I mean I gave up on the Simpsons too.

I thought Stan’s speech in the end was moving. It’s as though Trey Parker was pouring out his own emotions through Stan. I think we’ve all been there at one point, tearfully exclaiming how we just want our lives back. These times are especially stressful on children.

It had a few moments. But not enough to make me think about watching the show again. The Randy parts were max cringe. Interesting they had Cartman do the right thing in the end.

I like how they took shots at Trump, though, through the character of President Herbert Garrison, their stand-in for Trump.

I really enjoyed the beginning and the end and for the most part, the entire middle was meh. The Token and Butters parts were worthwhile.

Cartman being a devious little bastard for zoom and just relishing in the restrictions was very relatable and funny. And the “I JUST WANT TO BE NORMAL” at the end was unexpectedly touching for a show with a talking poo.

I was apprehensive that they might do their typical “both sides are bad” thing that I’ve seen too many times. If they didn’t, then I’ll probably give it a shot.

I also am not a big fan of the show becoming about Randy and his pot business, but it sounds like that’s just part of the show.

Yeah, fans are tiring of that, and I won’t spoil it, but Randy’s behavior in this episode was especially creepy.

And Cartman’s song was pretty good, as well as his six foot distancing pole.

Everything with Cartman was great. The kids storyline was great, Randy’s was only OK.

Hiring the officers to replace teacher was a hilarious idea.

I was already pretty damn tired of the Tegrity Farms shit. Liked the pengulin(?) idiocy, tho.
