Comedy Central. Jesus. What the fuck?

I want to rant about the Saturday Night Live Channel…er:D I mean Comedy Central. It’s so hot-n-cold it just pisses me off.

First, they have all that great original programing like Glick, South Park, The Man Show. I just love it! Their original programing is better than 99% of any other networks. I mean that!

Then they mother fucking ruin it by FIRST) Playing repeat after repeat of SNL. It’s not even good, golden age SNL. SECOND) they get ahold of a movie or two and re-play it 50 gazillion times.
At one point I could lip sinc the script for the movie “The Chase”, which I fucking hated the first six hundred sixty six times they played it!

Now they’re doing something new! They’re replaying the Conan O’Boring show from the previous night! Just in case you’re not a fucking grown up and can’t stay up past your bed time to watch it! Now hear me out: This would be absolutely brilliant! I mean genius…IF IT WERE 1972 AND NOBODY OWNED A FUCKING VCR!!!
How can one network both rock and suck at the same time???

And all the people said “Amen”…

Um, some people like watching repeats of SNL. Just because you don’t doesn’t mean other people don’t. After all, considering how wildly popular the show was and still is, is it so hard to fathom people will want to watch the reruns. Just cause it’s a rerun doesn’t mean everyone’e seen it before either…

PS Most channels that play movies play them over and over and over and over… ie Superstation, FX, TNT, etc. I can’t even tell you how many times The Mummy has been on this week.
PPS But I like The Mummy and I think I probably did watch it (or parts of it) at least twice! Argh, I’m a nerd!

Sigh:rolleyes: 37 posts huh?

:stuck_out_tongue: Am i a prick or what?

Just kidding Kezermezer

But CC could at very least not be palying the same fucking episodes of SNL over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and
and and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over and over and over and over and over and…!
And…what about something else? What about Second City Television, Friday, Hot 'ol Baltimore, ect. If they have to play old shows do they have to play the SAME old show over and…you know.

Ooooh that was harsh pk.

But at least I can quote people without leaving extra partially done vB code on!

Ha ha! Score a point for Kezermezer! . . . a weak point . . .

Eh sigh

Seriously though, I do see your point. I don’t watch too much TV any more so many of the ones I see I haven’t seen before.

…but I am glad for repeats every time the one hosted by Cameron Diaz comes one, cause that train station kid’s show skit is fecking hilarious!!

Yes, a laugh riot. EVERY 9,000 TIMES THEY’VE SHOWN IT!

You would laugh even harder at the skit where Bill Murray screams about how his penis burns when he pees.
They’ve got almot 30 years of episodes. Must we only get '92-97?

Well hell I don’t work for them so I can’t help you figure this one out.

At least they are not showing anything from the Charlie Rocket years.

I wish like hell they would show reruns of Letterman’s NBC show.

Let’s see…

YOU watch a movie you “fucking hate” until you can lip-sync the dialogue, and this is somehow the station’s fault?
You have not yet mastered the “Off” button, let alone the concept of “a life independent of TV”?

ah, Wisconsin - been there, have family there, will NOT become a cheesehead in this or any other life. Perhaps you could start small - add a VCR to the TV, rent tapes, and watch something you have NOT seen hundreds of times before? Don’t panic, just a thought…

Damn, I was hoping Comedy Central had a new series about Jesus out that was pissing everyone off.

Hell, I’d watch it.

Hey there used to be The Comedy Channel. Chock full of reruns of Rhoda and its spinoff Phyllis, bad 60s movies, and promos lots of promos. And standup comics roamed the land in packs.

Of course there were good parts like MST3K, and old stuff some people liked (Bob&Ray, Supercar), and weird stuff (Lancelot Link, Clutch Cargo)…

Am I defending Comedy Central? OMG! I guess not.

But CC will be losing SNL in a few years to E! I wonder what’l happen.

Comedy Central can’t show most years of SNL now, because E! has exclusive rights to most seasons, including the first cast.

You’re not supposed to watch Comedy Central so much that you see the same movie 50 times.

Well, they did show Office Space again last night, so I’m willing to cut them a little slack.

[sub]Mother-shitter! Son of an Ass![/sub]

Some of us like Conan O’Brien. A lot.

The problem comedy central is having is the stand up comedy crash of the 90s hasnt abated very much

Remeber when there were millions of stand up comedy shows ? even the big affiliated networks ran them during off hours

Well two things happened 1 all the really good comedians were signed to network shows most of which failed with seinfeld home improvement and drew carey being exceptions

2 every one became burned out on comedians as the sudden drop in comedy clubs and comedians worh watching declined which is why comedy central had to find other programming

also every comedian these days does stand up til he can get a tv or cable deal

So the decline of the stand up comedy scene has a huge part in cc’s programming

… or Kids in the Hall or Exit 57 or Vacant Lot or give the Bert Fershners a show.

Yeah, I hear ya, brother! Comedy Central either really, really sucks or its brilliant! I either watch it or watch somethin’ else! :stuck_out_tongue:

She said she loved me like a brother. She was from Arkansas, hence the Joy!

CC does indeed show Kids in the Hall. Used to be on sometime around 2pm every day, but now I think they moved it to sometime around 2am, could be wrong about that tho.

And it’s really helpful to the good folks of Houston, TX, I’ll bet.
