comic book leopard man

Ok, I remember a leopard man comic book character- a fairly major one. He could have been a villian, and I know he was either Marvel or DC.

Help!

The Cheetah is female, and one of Wonder Woman’s best-known foes. She was also in the Super Friends cartoon in the '70s and early '80s, which would make her more likely to be recognized.

Kraven the Hunter was a Spider-Man villain who wore a vest with a lion’s head on the front, and a lion’s mane around the back (he had an African safari/big game hunter motif).

Ring any bells?

Cheetara? Panthro? Liono?

Snarf?

Nope- spotted dude. Perhaps a costume, I don’t remember.

Could it be…The Spot?

Nope.

Kurt Buseik’s Astro City has Leopardman and Kitkat appear in a few stories, but no full-blown dedicated title to date.

Maybe the OP is thinking of Tigra? But she’s got stripes…

Spidey-Villain Kraven.

The Avenger, Tigra.

Marvel Comics’ Star Line Thundercats Edition.

Cheetah, from Antarctic Press’s Golddigger

The Leopard from Lime Street!

That kicked ass, that did. Or maybe it was shit. It was definitely one or the other, and I was a BIG fan, but then, I was but a bairn.

Are you sure it was a leopard?

Black Panther had his own series in the 1970’s. I think it was titled Jungle Action, Starring the Black Panther. Although the issue I read was set in New York, and guest starred Daredevil. He had a limited series in the late 90’s or early 00’s as well.

Late 70’s or early 80’s, a character called Bronze Tiger was prominent on the Marvel scene.

Both Marvel and DC have done comics based on the Tarzan novels, and one of them probably did Tarzan and the Leopard Men.

Archie Comics or Gold Key Comics once had a series called Brothers of the Spear, which was set in an Edgar Rice Burroughs-style jungle. I would be surprised if they did not encounter some Leopard-Man-style foe at some point.

Zuh? Marvel had a Bronze Tiger too? Because I know DC had one - one who was part of the Suicide Squad, and is currently guest-starring in Richard Dragon.

I could be wrong. It was 20+ years ago, and it was a comic I never collected.

DC had Bronze Tiger, Marvel had White Tiger (and of course Black Panther).

There is also Cheetahman, from Mike Allred’s Madman Comics and G-Men From Hell. He also appeared in the G-Men From Hell movie, but he is a very minor and obscure character, and I’d be very surprised if he is who the OP meant.

You might be thinking of a movie.
